As long as they are warm and comfort me I dont care. There was this one girl that had blue eyes with brown streaks. It doesnt matter.

It's a legacy of our prehistoric origins to view light eyes with some suspicion.  Generally speaking, predators have light eyes and prey species dark.  As a prey species, the original human eye colour is brown and it was the early migration out of Africa to the colder climates of northern Europe that precipitated the mutation that brought blue, green and the lighter shades of brown.

Selection in the early days of domestication was no doubt focussed on altering the dog away from the wolf form, including the light eye and I think most people do prefer the look of a dark eye though I doubt it has any advantage or disadvantage over other shades.

My dog is the first GSD I have had with light eyes and it took awhile for them to grow on me but it looks natural on him
