BEE I said "know better", not "be(e)" better :)
But just look at which posters, with what beliefs, are the people siding with you;
writing posts in agreement with yours; clicking their Like buttons on your posts.
Doesn't that tell you anything about the views you are expounding ?

Hundmutter ~ my guess is that what you perceive as a "bigoted prescription" by those of faith is just the absolute refusal to be swayed by the popular opinion of the day where ethics are concerned. And this is especially so where scripture is clear, with regard to what it teaches on a given topic. Christians are certainly not in a position to preach "at" others with regard to the way they live. However we are called to defend biblical concepts and teachings, and warn others of their error and call them to repentance. Past that, the arguing, debating, and trying to convince those without faith is futile and foolish IMO and certainly not consistent with the teachings of scripture.

Not really Ruger, I am accusing them of intolerance; and a lack of humane empathy with people
wired differently from themselves. That isn't just about refusing to be swayed by the fashionable
arguments of the times we are in; it is far more important. If nobody who holds a certain belief
system could ever be persuaded they might be wrong about anything we would still be living
in the Dark Ages. The 'personal is political', and if religions get in the way of a wider knowledge
and understanding, then religions should be argued against.

BTW Beetree said: "Certainly when we read the Wiki review [ of 'Delusions of Gender' ]
there are detractors to her own undertanding." I would like to point out for anyone who
cannot be bothered to read the Wiki page themselves but then assumes that plural 's'
means anything, that the only negative comment on that page came from Simon Baron-
Cohen - and, well, "he would, wouldn't he ?" ...since it's his methodology Fine takes issue
with.

Hundmutter, I haven't seen anyone show intolerance or lack of empathy for the person that is gay. I have seen lack of tolerance from you though on other's opinons as to why they are.
Fact is man has many opinions on why things are as they are, and man has been proven to be a liar, time and time again, which is why I choose to stand on the Word of God in all things. He can not lie, and will prove the Bible to be true.
As a Christian I am too aware of man's failings. We all have demons to battle with, sins to erradicate. The whole point of Christianity is that we are all sinners, and we all need Jesus, as He is the only way to God the Father. The world doesn't want to hear that, and it is not a popular thing to say, however, it is the truth, and I love you all enough to tell you that.
I"m outta here.
Have a great day everyone and I do mean everyone! :)

Not enough mind to work with here to even paint a future view.
I just read your post RS. I am outta here, too. You are much nicer to care about everyone on this thread.
I sure don't! Have a great day. :)

Hundmutter....
Seriously you are making a "gang" out of who clicks on agree/disagree buttons?
That smacks of bully worse than attempting to change my mind using friendship/respect as pressure.
Have at it, then.

Can someone help me?
I can't figure out if I was pre-disposed to read this thread, or if I made a choice to read it...
I'm very confused at this moment...

There is nothing to agree on. Religion has treated massive amounts of people as second class and they will continue to do it until the end of time. Because only they can be right.
ML,
Who is confused? People know who they are attracted to and it is only those who what to remain bigots, discriminatory and extremely closed minded who are confused. Look at the past, burning witches to death, lol, witches. What about those heathen native Americans or the blacks or sufferage the list goes on and on and on.
So, ML when did you make the conscience choice to be heterosexual? The thought must have came to mind on all you folks when you decided and thought about being straight surely you must have put equal thought into being gay to make your informed choice.
Think about what you are all saying.
