All this vk4 outrage is too funny. What a good laugh to start off the day!

vk : In case nobody else says this, I think the arguments you made

in your last few posts were VERY clear, and the sources you quoted

impeccable.  I think there is so very little difference giving a margin for

argument between the NLT and KJC,  that what is being said about

rape not really being rape, because the virgins who were captured were

forced into marriage with their captors  (first ???) would be entirely

indiffensible in a modern context.     (Wouldn't it, Bee ?).

Pity however that those reading your posts are so determined NOT to

admit they may be wrong that their ears and eyes (and minds) are so

CLOSED to all rational argument.

Incidentally, was there any reference to recidivism rates in those prison

populations cited ?  That could be very illuminating also ?

Only in a very closed sense, something all this compartmentalizing appears to obfuscate. Really, just another fruitless go round on that hamster wheel.

Still, as an observation of the human tendency to vilify those who are different thinkers, this thread does that.

ACT 20:29 For I know this that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise speaking perverse thing, to draw away disciples after them.

The greatest danger we face is NOT from the unbeliever, but those who claim to be believers and teach false doctrine:

Gouda think about it, if i had bad intentions i would not declare myself your enemy. i would pretend to be your friend and join your church and pervert it.

is that what your quote above means?

Gouda, what was your intent with that scripture?

by vk4gsd on 27 May 2014 - 21:05

Shtal me & you both want to know lol.

by beetree on 27 May 2014 - 22:05

Gouda,

Can't that same thing be turned and used against you? Isn't that what Ruger and Carlin always objected to? The "teaching of false doctrine". It is always then a battle of the human interpretation. You, I know feel a calling, and it is at odds with others' translations or meanings, begot from The Word.

I certainly am not qualified to fight a Biblical scripture fight, so that isn't what this post is about. Just that your scripture choice is of interest, because you must have something definite in mind, other than yourself.

The apostles were led into all truth which was recorded in the Bible and faithfully passed down to us. The promise of being guided into “all truth was never intended for every Christian and it is clear that it does not apply to Christians today. If any Christian wants to speak the Word of God, he or she cannot refuse to study God’s Word, and simply assume that the Holy Spirit will directly put God’s Word on his or her heart. In fact, Christians today, instead of being promised a miraculous knowledge endowed by the Holy Spirit without thought on their part, are commanded “to study” or “be diligent” to know God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15), and to “give attention to reading” the Word of God (1 Timothy 4:13). There is no truth pertinent to the salvation of the lost that the apostles did not receive. We, therefore, can conclude that Jesus’ promise that the apostles would be guided into all truth was fulfilled. We further can conclude that no one living today has been given that promise, and that God’s Word has been definitively delivered to the saints once and for all I hope this answers your question

John
