"Do not sit by my grave and weep.
I am not dead; I do not sleep."
So what, she's got a sundress on. It was hardly the
depths of winter.
SSheesh, I detest Xtian moralizing.

That was incredibly insensitive to the grief shown at the loss of her soldier. I suppose there is nothing relatable with the USA Memorial Day in the UK. Really seems you would prefer dancing on the graves to spite Christtians. Lots of hate going around these days.

Wow Hundmutter???
Maybe we should have let the Nazis take England...
Are you that miserable and insensitive???

by Hundmutter on 27 May 2014 - 15:05
Oh I'm sorry, am I reading something into the strap line about
"BBQ Day" that isn't there ?
by beetree on 27 May 2014 - 15:05
Yes.

Christian word used incorrectly here ...THE word becomes a target everytime someone shows mercy and compassion like Mountain Lion just posted because:
for THE LAST month , every ad, every grocerystore, every department store has depected Memorial Day as the day you get together and bar b que...
it HAS and IS commercialized , just like Christmas has become..THE word Christian means OF CHRIST....
We think or suppose to, think like Christ...so simply because even the TV political talks all talked about BAR B QUE instead of Honoring our Veterans...the focus was on eating with your family....but did any of them say go to town...watch the parade for vets or go to the nearest place where they are Honoring the vets.. I believe Ben Carson hit the nail on the head as he said we do not need to say Happy Veterans Day...we Need to Say "Honor our Veterans today" or if that is akward say Have a great day HONORING our Veterans...not eating BAR B QUE...
The majority of people , who had the day off, were bar b quing, celebrating with drink and food ie eat, drink and be merry but did they mention while doing their celebrating,,,?" IT is for Our vets that we are here today."
Thanks ML for your picture.
I think some just were not aware of how the media has pushed day of BarB Quing ..jmo

Hundmutter, there is NOTHING Christian about that photo! I really don't comprehend how you could read anything into it that makes it about faith. Do atheists not visit graveyards to mourn loved ones? Do you just believe the ashes should be scattered to the wind, rather than having a place we can remember the person?

by Two Moons on 27 May 2014 - 18:05
Does one need a designated place to remember someone?
I intend to have my ashes spread in the garden, so what.
Post a stupid picture, get a stupid remark, my remark would be I only feel sorry for the families of idiots who got killed for nothing, sucked into the military for lack of jobs, and the promise of money and an education, pawns of their masters.
Honor the great care given to our troops by the VA, especially the ones who died waiting for care.
Remember the forgotten soldiers of Vietnam, beg their forgiveness for the way they were treated when they returned home.
Shove those little flags up the asses of those who wave them in mindless patriotic gestures having no clue what the word even means.
The honors stopped at world war 2 in my opinion, honor those who actually died for a cause.
The whole world got sucked into that one.
If you really want to honor those who fell in the past, then stop sending replacements off to die in the future.
There is no honor in war period.
