AWWW! Thank you for the kind thoughts!

If I could afford to hire someone to look after the place, I'd be sunning myself at my mom's winter hideaway in Ruskin, Fla.!

Well, they've downgraded the snowfall to between 6" and 8", I'm not impressed Confused Smile

That's too bad, Travels. Would you like me to ship you some of mine?  Wink Smile

We dodged the bullet!  Went from 12" to 6-8" to "a dusting" and nary a flake to be seen!  Cold, but NO snow, yay!

That's the sort of news I like to hear when it comes to weather!  Thumbs Up

So, this is what I'm hoping for (above)

And, this what I got: What Smile

Oh, I'm depressed.  It's a beautiful, sunny day out there and I'm stuck on the couch with a nasty head cold.  Can't stop sneezing or blowing my nose Sad Smile

Travels, you have my sympathy!

I had hoped to go to training today, but...

Last night, I was tidying up the house, and went to put some newspapers in the recycling box. The boxes were stuck (frozen) together, so I gave them a good kick...

Not the smartest thing I've ever done. I think I might have broken my big toe!  I spent the rest of the evening lying on the couch, with the foot elevated on a cushion. It feels a little better today, though it's quite black and blue, and I'm having difficulty walking. No training today, needless to say!

The next time I give something a kick, I'll make sure I'm wearing my workboots, and not a pair of soft-toed slip-ons!  Sad Smile

Sun, tape it to the toe beside it, that's all they'd do at the doctor's office, or get a splint at the nearest drug store.  I've broken toes before, takes about a week to feel better.  Ironically, once I broke a toe in a swimming pool on vacation, by the next morning it was all different colors, but mostly black.  I didn't know if I'd be able to dive, but decided to anyway.  Went down about 100' and when I came up it felt better.  By the time we reached shore, the discoloration was gone!  It still hurt, but the depth pushed all of the blood back out of the tissue, I guess.  Weird, really weird....

WOW! Not a cure I'd be able to try, Travels, because my cochlear implant limits my diving to 50 feet or less. It does feel better today, so I am hoping it's just bruised and not broken.

Two previous broken toes (fortunately NOT the big toe) were caused by tripping over dogs. One was caused by tripping over furniture, when my employer paged me after a 12 hour night shift, asking if I could come in again the next night. Needless to say, after I picked myself up off the floor, the answer was NO!  Sad Smile

That was a really nasty one, too. The second toe on the left foot was crossed over the one beside it, and there is still quite the gap between my big toe and the second toe, even after my MD pulled it back into place. (It was a dislocation, rather than a true break.)
