Happy for you Bee. Wish I could get more excited about basketball,  but I quit watching the NBA when the game changed back in the late 80's - early 90's, and typically lose patience with "March Madness" when the calendar turns April. I think it's great for the schools, but the whole bracket thing has become terribly gimmick.

Carlin: LOL NBA is boring! Especially "playoffs". I used to fall for that ... thinking that meant the end was near. Nothing lasts longer than an NBA playoff!

College B-Ball, well, that certainly brings back some fond memories. I don't want to "date" myself too much, (I think I have done that plenty of times already!) but I do remember the humble beginnings! I was at UConn for three years before I transferred to Syracuse where I graduated. Even then, it was still Big East and a new Carrier Dome. I couldn't help rooting for UConn when they played against each other! LOL And it is exciting, because they are kids, and they do make mistakes and the pace is fast. Just try to watch the Women Huskies tonight! That game is going to be something else. Two undefeated teams meeting, and I think I read that is a first for NCAA.

Over 79,000 people in TX had that football stadium packed! What was a real hoot, was seeing former presidents, Bill Clinton and GWB, sitting next to each other at the game! Smiling, too! LOL My dad was there but I never found him in all that crowd.

I am supposed to paint tonight, but I will have to leave a bit early to come home and watch them play. There is nothing second rate about how the women play B-Ball. Plus, the coaches who are both from Philly, have openly expressed extreme dislike for one another. Battle it will be!

What do you mean the gimmicks about brackets? I see it as no different than having seeded tennis players? Or, the silly marketing and betting to win a big prize? That is easily ignored by me. I guess because I do remember the "humble" beginnings! It is really about some awesome skill and heart, that triumphs. We do know what underdog feels like!

But not today! LOL Clown

In theory it's the same, in reality though, the media has made it an entirely different animal. I won't even touch ESPN this time of year, which is borderline sacrilege for me.
