Blizzard Coming - Page 2

So, how cold is it? It was -13 F here, with a windchill of -30 this am. Poor dogs: even with an extra electric heater I can't get the temp in the main kennel above 54 F! The damn guillotine doors leak cold air like crazy! I stuffed a few of them up with insulation from the outside, and put extra insulation around the ventilation fan and a door I rarely ever used. (It has a screen on the outside, so I put insulation between the screen door and the main door.)

At least it's sunny!

And the temp has crept up to 3 F. If it gets much warmer, I may actually go out and start digging frozen poop out of the ice and snow.

To be honest, the older I get the more I hate winter. Wish I was in Florida with my mom, who winters near Sunshine City (Ruskin). 

It was around zero F this morning, it's warmed up a few degrees, going down to minus 15 F Tonight.

The water pipes were frozen in the bathroom here at work this morning,

One of the huge air compressor lines was frozen up.

Everything is unthawed, but it's going to get even colder this evening so it is what it is. I've been up plowing since 3:30 AM. That's all done.

Still FMAO (I like that Ruger, good one) LOL

wow..i feel bad complaining about 29 degrees....
but i could barely get dogs out this morning...one had to be pushed w/ both hands under his ars just to get him out the door....hell...i had to be pushed out of bed this am...lol..

This is our 5 day forecast.  That's some craziness, isn't it?

 

I wonder if people living in Alaska think we're silly.

We have had an unseasonably hot humid summer and fall and well into winter.  Remained in the 90s through October and then high 80s until just recently.  Yesterday it dropped to 76, tonight is the coldest, over a 30 degree drop to a 44 degrees right now.  In a few days it is going to be back up to mid 80's so yes, definitely some climate change going on. 


 

They lied it is only -6 this morning...LOL

Feels like a heatwave!
