Consuming ourselves into oblivion, still. Paris temporarily bans all even numbered license plates to combat unsafe levels of smog.

On March 17, commodities adviser Jim Sinclair spoke in an interview with Greg Hunter of USA Watchdog on gold, the markets, and ongoing events taking place between the U.S. and Russia over Ukraine. During the 30 minute interview, Sinclair laid out a chilling scenario where Russia has positioned themselves to be one move away from collapsing the U.S. economy, and that one wrong move by President Obama could set the entire scenario in motion.

A leading ayatollah of Iran’s Islamic regime is promising that Western leaders will be executed by the Islamic messiah, the state-owned media outlet Mehr news reported Saturday.

“When Imam Zaman ['Mahdi,' the last Shiite Imam] comes, he will behead the Western leaders,” warned Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani, the interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran and a member of the Assembly of Experts, the body that chooses the supreme leader. “However, Imam will not harm the oppressed nations,” he said.

I guess Obama now believes himself to be global judge and jury.

Sanctions? That's a total joke given the energy resources available within the Russian homeland, not to mention ties to Iran. "Diminish" Russian relevance on the world stage? Hardly, particularly when they are backed by another nuclear power in the Chinese who hold an astounding amount of US debt.  As for the justification being the ability of the people of Ukraine to govern themselves, I have to wonder if the implied model isn't that of the hijacked US "democracy". I'm sure the powers that be would love another western puppet, but it should be clear to all involved that the Russians are not about to let that happen in their own back yard.
