My point for posting. to alert folks that it is in fact still active and dangerous. ShihTzu's have become very common. How many were sold before the guy was shut down? Is it possible that those owners have GSD's in their households? etc etc you can see where it goes. Perfect example........ A known kennel to this board had several different types of small breed dogs as well as GSD's, Mali's and then Rotts, If 1 of his dogs had Brucellosis and he was not careful of sanitation and/or did not require a brucellosis before breeding........
Being a groomer I always worry about transmitable diseases, especially since I take Mischa with me most times.

Brucellosis is contagious if you come in contact with blood, semen or the sac of a fetus born to a female with the infection , and you are not knowing of it.
Artlcle is only one on the subject. On Yahoo google there are a bunch more to read

It is also transmitable by urine, feces and in kennel situations can be airborn, is it really worth the risk to test the ways of transmission?
I just wanted to alert those in Texas and La that frequent the board that there had been reported cases. Better safe than sorry. Since I also board animals I take great care of sanitation and always try to stay on top of possible health threats in this area.

First of all I am one of the breeders you are all talking about.I am a "in home breeder."My dogs are all inside my home and are not in kennels. They have never been in cages. All of my personal dogs were tested before these came here and all live inside as my pets, so to the people who called me a puppy mill if you don't know what your talking about you need not point fingers till you got the facts straight..I was an honest person thinking I was dealing with another honest breeder like myself..I was not starting out as a breeder, I have been a breeder for years and have a great reputation as one. And yes I knew about all the diseases but you can't see Brucellosis.Your welcome to come see my dogs anytime.whats left of them.Yes my dogs cost me money ,I have champion line dogs.I was told these dogs were a.k.c. dogs they were not.Everything was a lie.The guy told us he was getting a divorce needed money and we had to BUY ALL 27.I didnt want 27 dogs.other breeders here purchased them.It was all a lie from the get go.He sent fancy pictures of his kennels and to have fooled me he could fool anyone.I went online and tried to research his kennel name before I drove all the way to Texas. He had changed it.If he had given me the real name I would of never bought those dogs. And ,Yes, all the dogs came with what he said was all the medical papers for each dog. After we got back to La. They didn't match up to the dogs or their micro chips. There were no medical papers in that folder. You do not know what I have been through so If you don't know what your talking about and wishing I lose every penny you have no heart.I lost something more important then MONEY I lost my dogs my best friends,my pets. And I still am losing them.Put the blame where it lies on Him.He knew he had this in his kennels years 2 years ago Texas knew it had reports on it and nothing was done to him and to sell those dogs knowing they had this is a crying shame.. Its not just us who purchased dogs. The B.B. has hundreds of complaints on him. There were many dogs there.Innocent people out there just buying a puppy for thier child and guess what???They can have the disease that CAN be transmitted to people in thier home and don't know it .What will it take for a human to contract this for something to be done.Better hope it's not me or my family.Take all this energy you are using to bash me and the other breeder and write and get laws enforced in your state.Any dog can have this and you won't know it unless it is tested.I had enough of all this bashing.I love my dogs and know I am a good breeder.the guy was NEVER shut down and is still selling dogs with this and other diseases to the blind public.I had my say and will recover.I have my own reputation as a breeder that will keep me going.I am honest and will stay honest.

If you know for a fact he is still selling dogs that are ill with Brucellosis, or if the dogs you purchased tested positive for it, here is the contact info for the head of the zoonotic diseases division here in Texas, He is wonderful to work with as is Angela at the offiec with him. I dont know the laws concerning this type of problem but I I can promise he will or will have the info asap, I trained under him for my ACO and he is very personable. I am not sure if that breeder is located in our region or not but Dr. Wright will let you know. You are the best person to present the information since you are directly involved. He is a man that takes action when presented with facts that are verifiable.
Good Luck :)

Thank you Therese, for bringing this to the attention of other breeders/dog owners.
That was the entire point of speaking to Fox 26, to make sure people were aware.
I am however appalled at the others on this forum who instantly jump to conclusions without knowing the facts, particularly from a forum who promotes so many kennels/breeders. I can assure you, the "breeders" who spoke to Fox 26 are NOT puppy mills.
Puppy Mills = 100% HUMAN GREED. The ONLY thing that matters is the money. If any of those women who spoke out against David Moore (owner of the

No, they would not have taken that risk. They would have kept quiet, kept to themselves, and simply had the positive dogs all put down with out anyone knowing, hoping no one ever found out they ever had a positive Brucellosis dog, as to not "ruin their reputation" and dent their pocket books.
Those women (myself included) came forward, in a very public way because they not only love their dogs, but they love ALL DOGS and did not want to see this happen to other dogs AND the people who love them!!
Just because they "purchased" 27 dogs from David Moore, does not mean they purchased all 27 for THEMSELVES.
For example, the purchase of MY DOG, was prearranged before they ever went to

As far as having all the dogs tested before buying them, the SELLER of those dogs is a CON ARTIST!! A good con artist, CAN and WILL con even the best of us. He made everything on the surface look perfect and completely in order.
If you think you are "immune" from being conned or scammed, think again. It happens to good people every day, who think they are doing everything right. Case in point, Enron - The company we all know and who Fortune named "
How about doing some research on Life Lock (a service that is also, by the way, being promoted on THIS website). I doubt their current membership of 700,000 think they are being scammed. Guess we will find out once all the law suits have finally made their way through the courts.
We all know hind sight is 20/20, and sure, there are things looking back ANYONE who purchased a dog or puppy from David Moore could have done, but the fact remains, this man KNEW (already proven in court) he had Brucellosis, as well as numerous other diseases and infections in his Kennel. He sold those dogs stating th
by appalledinLA on 09 August 2008 - 04:08
He sold those dogs stating they were healthy (with paperwork that ended up not matching up to correct dogs) and up to date on all immunizations (which they were not). He now KNOWS he sold Brucellosis positive dogs AGAIN, and yet he still continues.
All of the "right" people in
There is one very important thing I want to make clear here, and that is, if you think Brucellosis is only a "breeding" problem, you are completely wrong. We have been talking to people from all over, who purchased dogs from this same man, and their other dogs have also become infected, even though they never mated with the infected dog.
