I mix unfiltered organic apple cider (with the "mother") when I mix up a large weekly batch of dehydrated fruits and veggies for the dogs.

Many opt for the simple blood test over the skin testing.

The blood tests are inconsistent and not nearly as reliable. I had 3 done on Dylan, all 3 had different results so we ended up skin testing him anyway. Had I to do it over, I wouldn't have bothered with the blood tests in the first place. The only advanatage is it's easier to collect a blood sample than it is to skin test a dog. One showed he was allergic to lamb, one flea bites and the 3rd showed no reactions ar all. When he was skin tested a few months after the 3rd blood test, he reacted to just about every pollen and mold in North America. I'd never recommend the blood test although it is the path of least resistance, it is just not reliable enough to be diagnostic.

Yes Blitzen, we are thinking of going with the skin testing over the blood testing. My vet recommended it. Thanks for you input : - }
