German Shepherd DogVA3 BSZS 2001 Enschi von der Piste Trophe SCHH3,IPO3We are happy to announce the arrival of the 1999 Junghunde Siegerin and 2001 VA3 female Enschi Piste Trophe. She arrives tomorrow and will be residing in the foothills of Virginia. Enschi has established herself as an excellent breeding female from lines that produced two VA females in Germany. Her mother Prixi produced VA Olga also. Enschi produced two time VA1 Cim and VA2 Cindia in other countries. ....20.4 years ago
German Shepherd DogV Ursus vom Emkendorfer Park SCHH2Ursus is the product of a breeding to produce a substantial female for his breeders future prodegny from his top male. I found him while looking for a Whisky pup for a man in Calif. It takes some time to fill a special request like; "Whisky pup, good color, good character, good male features, top quality. By the time I found what Whisky pups were out there, looked at their potential and found one I could recommend. The fellow found another pup. So as with most of the Siegers and Siegerins I have, the buyer had moved on by the time I found the right one. I put him on the For Sale board here, but no one wanted a Whisky pup, so I kept him. His first show was in Conneticut at 4 months of age. He placed second under Lothar Quoll behind a beautiful older male from John Heinkel's kennel. He was and is a loose pup. He received an excellent critique from Herr Quoll. Ursus made it to the Canadian Sieger Show where he placed first in what to me was an impressive class. Many thanks to John from Bill Fleisher's team who handled him. Ursus was a crowd pleaser. He is full of life and a great mover despite his awkward stage of development. This past weekend Ursus and I traveled to a magnificent show hosted by the Keystone Buckeye club near Pittsburg, Pa. For those that missed it. Gayle and her club really know how to do a show. They hope it will be an annual event. You will want to put their show on the list of shows you must attend. The judge was Whisky's breeder and owner. I wanted his opinion of Ursus since he should know what a good Whisky pup looked like. Needless to say he was pleased. Many thanks to Ron Harris who handled Ursus to another first. Gayle's husband is quite a photographer. He took a few shots of Ursus with Walter Kotters (vom Senator)who was there handling for Khuen Haus, and a couple of photos with Rudiger Mai (Grandpa). I hope to have them soon to update the poor photo that is on this website now. He lives here in Northern Virginia and is turning out to be as good as we had hoped. There is a lot that has to happen between now and his first German sieger show. Puppies change from week to week. For now we just hope he keeps what he has as he grows. Thanks for your interest and kind compliments, I'll let him know you were asking about him. Stop by and say hi in Statesville. He'll be in the 6 to 9 male class. ....20.6 years ago

German Shepherd Dog2X VA1 Larus von Batu SCHH3If we want to include females; lets not forget SG3 Xara who is already titled in the 18 to 24 class, SG16 Fendi, SG20 Quennja (already mentioned) and SG21Yasmin, SG36 Henni. ....19.6 years ago
German Shepherd DogVA3 BSZS 2001 Enschi von der Piste Trophe SCHH3,IPO3Enschi's production is not over. She's back with her breeder and was bred day before yesterday. I'll post a new picture of Enschi's pup from her last litter with Larus Batu in a day or so. She's only 3 months in the picture. Visit Inga Agassiz. She has an excellent brother also. Expect to see a female at the sieger show this year from Bax/Enschi. Cindia is back in Germany now and will have a litter for the Piste Trophe kennel. Cindia went from V35 in Germany to VA2 in the US. Cindia is back in Germany preparing for this years German Sieger show. Her breeding cycle will be close to the show date so we hope she can do both. One or two good puppies from any litter is all you can expect. I think when Enschi is finished, her contribution to the breed will be established. It's not uncommon for breeders in Germany to work with other breeders as they exchange dogs they think will work in their breeding program. You can't fill your breeding program with the same blood generation after generation. Mr. Bosl has many more good dogs than he shows at the sieger show. Some are from his bredings, some are from others. He promotes the dogs he gets from his friends as if they were his own. It's good sportsmanship. Most successful kennels do this also. ....19.9 years ago
German Shepherd DogV1 Ero von der Wienerau SCH3I wondered where he went. He was in VA for a while after the 2000 sieger show. ....19.9 years ago
German Shepherd DogVA2 Quenn vom Löher Weg SCHH3, FHI saw this male make SG1 earlier this year under Orscher-who gave him an absolutely faultless/perfect report [over the loudspeaker]! Wow what a dog! Fantastic construction, super movement and totally sound, true medium size but with phenomenal power, strength and substance, also I believe super hips[whole family/litter] and elbows-genetics. He is SG1 -5 times this year and SG2 once when out of coat/condition. While watching his class under Orschler, I overheard a ‘top judge/breeder’ commenting that this dog was the kind of Messiah the DSH needed in Germany. A medium sized Zamp Thermados with the character and drive to match his absolute constructional quality. A magnificent male with a big, big future in the GHKL, a dog who will not disappear after the young, youth classes! ....19.7 years ago
German Shepherd DogVA CROTIA Lux Di Casa Lupo SCH3 IPO3Urma book has him a Italien. ....19.9 years ago
German Shepherd DogVA3 (US) Jaguar von der Mäusespitz SchH3, IPO3,I throw in a general comment under Jaguar to respond to Dyanesh's question. It's a question that has appeared on the message board a few times on various dogs so there must be some interest. The answer applies universally to dogs in the sieger show that receive the EZ rating. This rating is given when a dog is pulled from the competition after the bitework but before the gaiting. A dog can be pulled without penality if there is a health issue and the dog is taken to the show vet for an evaluation and excuse. There are dogs that have been shown throughout the season that have done well and the owner wants the dog shown at the sieger show. The owner knows the dog is not the type or the bloodline or whatever the sieger show judge likes through his placings before the sieger show. Nevertheless the owner want the public to see his dogs performance under pressure on the field for the sieger show protection phase. The dog is presented for the work, does the work, crowd sees the dog and the dog gets sick. Dog goes to the show vet and is not required to complete the show. Many of the dogs are not really sick. The owners know they will not get the place they feel their dogs deserve so they take the dog to the vet. ....20 years ago
German Shepherd DogVA5 Nero vom Nöbachtal SCHH3Assuming a problem exists, I'll venture a guess, at least until the smoke clears and all the information is published. It's a technical problem. The book says this and this is what it must be. I don't think it's a genetic issue. That's my personal opinion that I'm sure will be condescended on here. But Campino has normal hips and elbows. I think in the end there will be two opinions of him. He has a problem. Not a good line to have. Or what a fantastic producer, how could we let a dog like that get away. Maybe there is some middle ground. ....19.6 years ago
German Shepherd Dog2X VA1 Larus von Batu SCHH3As you know it takes a lot including a good dog to make sieger, Showing, prodgeny, pedigree, judges overall opinion, Ring performance the day of the show, bitework, etc. There certainly are many excellent dogs in the VA group and V group this year, the world will never agree 100% on which dog should be sieger. Breeders can either accept the dog and the judges decision or go with any dog of their choosing in hopes that their decision to support a dog will enhance it's chances to become sieger. Right now it's hard to deny the success that comes from the Ursus line. There is diversity too. The line has produced not only excellent dogs but a variety of types. The Ursus type, the Yasko type, Larus type, Ghandi type. The world is lookng for the dog to replace him. There is a good chance the dog is already born. From the top group this year there are 4 dogs in the position to do well: SG12 Richy SG13 Pascha SG24 Ronaldo SG30 Scott Check them out and see if there are any there with VA potential. There are many that are in the top 20 that do not progress into the working class. A few that come from outside the top 10 to make their mark like Neptun. We will know in a few years if any of these dogs were able to make it into the VA group. There is still a long road ahead of these dogs. ....19.6 years ago
German Shepherd Dog2X VA1 Larus von Batu SCHH3There are a few offspring from Larus doing well at the shows in Germany. The results do not indicate the quailty of the class. It will be interesting to see how they place in the end. ....19.8 years ago

German Shepherd DogV16 Campino von der Piste Trophe SCHH3I believe there is a show etiquette in Germany. For a dog to receive a top 20 place, it needs to be campagined prior to the sieger show and shown twice before the sieger show judge. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken. The purpose is to promote participation and allow a cross section of judges to judge the dog. This prevents someone with an excellent dog coming to one show and winning. From what I can tell Campino was not campagined pre sieger show. Again, someone please correct me if I'm mistaken. This could possibly explain whay he was just inside the top 20. Bear in mind when you look at that particular class, Judge Meyer took the first 30 or so dogs at the end of the class and introduced them as the best young dogs of the highest quality in Germany today. The quality in the top group was unbelieveable for the most part. I think you could take the top 30 and put the group before 5 judges and get a different arrangement from each judge. ....19.7 years ago
