Stahl:

Your point of view is wonderful and I,m happy for you. But you can only make the argument if we both have the same point of prospective about the Bible and we don,t so trying to use it as the all telling answer does,nt work.. I,m happy you are so bound in your faith. My belief would not have me bound at all as to enjoy the whole bounty of what has evolved and was created.

 Stahl,
Actually If you check your hebrew concordance, Gen 1:1  "In the biginning God created the heaven and the earth"

The Hebrew word that earth was translated from was erets meaning = dry land

This is why I believe the gap theory between verses 1 & 2 or gap theory.  And I find alot more scripture to  support it than not, although not alot info but to me many more. I think many christians especially in past
have tried to link Gen 1:1 with the same time God created Adam , which was around 6,000 years old, when the bible doesn't say that at all. That time span from Verses 1& 2 could have been many thousands of years, That time span that many call the time of Lucifers Flood. Deuteronomy, Psalms, 2nd Peter, has alot of scripture to support this theory.

Bob,

Don't jump into conclusion, you asked me a question and I tried to respond.
I wasn't trying to cross a line - I was simply trying to see how you think.

Take care,

Shtal :)

The rapture could happen to any person in any random day, when holy person (individual) dies or death comes then his spirit being taken by God.

But the real rapture will happen in the second coming of the Lord.

King James Version 1 Thessalonians 4

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Dear, MarineMom - How do you understand this verse?

I have 4 translation available on this verse.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bible: The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Philippians, chapter 3, verse 7 -8

Translate1
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Translate2
7 However, what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ

Translate3
7 However, what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Messiah. 8 Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Messiah Yeshua, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Messiah.

Translate4
7 Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,

It's a question of faith. You either believe or you don't. No cutting of hairs. The Bible was written by a group of inspired prophets chosen by God. They weren't written in a day, but over a period of hundreds of years.
The day Jesus was born over a 100 prophesies were fulfilled, which were written over a thousand years before His birth.

1. Why did God (if "he" exist) only crated life (as far as we know), on this very little planet, in the whole universe?

Älvkarlen,

Why would you assume that?

The Universe is very big and we don't know everything what God does! - My Understanding that God is like a giant energy that fills whole universe.

Hank,

I love bible study, it is hard to just meet with people and talk without

joining a cooperation.   Here is a commit and a question.

The first paragraph Moses says God created the world and everything in it.

But the second paragraph Moses says Lord God created man.

I am Baptist but I went to a Rabbi to get this straight. I ask the Rabbi

about the Hebrew for God and Lord God.... I said Moses would

not change from saying God to Lord God without a reason....

He said I was absolutely correct......

My interpretation was God did create Man and woman long before 6000 years.

It was Lord God that created Adam And Eve 6000 years ago as we are today.

The tetragrammaton was the angel of God.....his messenger...He is many times referred to as Lord.

The other thing is not related, but I was wondering if Eloi could mean ...people of God. or angels of God....... or both?

Eloi plural of EL......EL which means God. In that case Jesus would be saying "people of God, people of God

why have you forsaken me?"........Meaning the Jewish people of faith. at his crucifixion. or the Angels who may have shunned him.

Everyone will say no he said,.. My God,.. My God why have you forsaken me. But that would be EL or ELI.

It just does not fit.  What does fit perfectly is the timeline of his death and resurrection....The lamb of God,

that took away the sins of the world. He truly fulfilled the prophecies....much to the dismay of Lucifer.
