Kitkat, sure wish we lived closer. I'd bring Maya over and we'd spend the day talking dogs. Would love to meet your crew as well.

I do know there's a problem with Maya that needs to be addessed. I'm just not as dramatic or over the top as some. Doesn't mean I don't take issues like this seriously or just "blow them off." I ordered 3 cans of spray shield from Amazon yesterday, just like I told GSDsRock I would. I'm hoping it works for Maya.

Hexe has done nothing wrong. GSDsRrock is the one who has been embarrassing and humiliating me by making me out to be some kind of clueless moron. I'm not a breeder or trainer but have had German Shepherds in my life for the last 30 years and have learned a few things. Beating the crap out of someone for asking a question will guarantee they will never ask again.

Trust me CSDsRock, Hexe didn't reveal anything that everyone didn't already know.

1001 ways to skin a cat.  there are multiple ways to do anything,  some more desirable then others.  it isn't just the dog to consider when training.   you also have to consider who is doing the training.  I have two sons and how I disciplined them for the same action was never the same and never the way my wife would have disciplined.  both got the job done as in teaching them what was acceptable and what wasn't and neither of us were abusive.  absolutely no difference with your dogs.

Triodegirl, you are forgetting that the overwhelming majority of people who visit PDB had no clue as to who the post was about until Hexe identified you. Most people just quickly check out the posts. They don't have time to sit there and try to match up posts to figure out what the connections are. I understand that you felt self-conscious, but that doesn't mean a lot of people guessed at who the post referred to. The post was pretty short on details and could have described a lot of people and dogs that I work with.

I'm glad that you ordered the citronella spray and I hope that it works. If you or Maya or Trigger ever need help, I will be there.

That said, there are some useful take-home points here:

1. I never disclosed your identity, and I called you a kindhearted and fine person in my posts. Hexe publicly identified you and ripped into you, even writing "shame on you" in one of her posts.

2. I spent many difficult hours talking to Maya's original owner in order to convince him to let you have Maya. I repeatedly told him that you are a wonderful person and that you would take excellent care of Maya. If I had not done so, you would not have Maya today. You know all this because the original owner told you about it.

3. When you had some unexpected expenses and could not pay the money that Maya's original owner wanted, I paid for Maya in full. I also paid for her veterinary care. The total was almost a thousand dollars.

4.  When you were unable to come and get Maya, I spent most of the day to pick her up, talk with her owner again, take her to the vet, make a long drive to bring her to you, haul her food and supplies into your house, and make a long drive home.

5. Hexe, Kitkat, and your other PDB “friends” did nothing for you or Maya. No trips. No vet visits. No phone calls. No hauling supplies into your house. No money. Instead, they have encouraged you to feel abused and mistreated. This helps neither you nor Maya.

6. From all this, you and other PDB users have concluded that Hexe, Kitkat, and the rest of the PDB crew are saints and I am scum.

Guess what? I am not an idiot, and I'm out of here.

When I help a dog described in a PDB post, that means there's another dog out there that I can't help. I will now shift my resources and my efforts to dogs that don’t appear in PDB posts. I will honor the two remaining commitments I have made on PDB, if needed, but that's the end of it. Only a fool stays where they get ripped up for getting off their duff and doing something real to help dogs and people.

One of the reasons I have been so successful at training dogs is because there have been times in my life when people have told me quite bluntly, even rudely and publicly, that a dog training method I was using was wrong. They didn’t bother telling me I was a fine person either. They just told me I was totally wrong about a dog training method. I didn't waste time on hurt feelings or thinking about myself. I focused on the dogs, thought about the new dog training information, concluded it was right, and changed my training methods.

Something to think about.

Then why are you running away with your tail between your legs?  Just get over yourself, and let's see if triodegirl rectifies the situation, first. I think that is the point. There is usually room for everybody at the ol' feed bowl.

Beetree, when a person accidentally steps in a pile of dogshit and avoids stepping in it again, that's not running away with her tail between her legs. That's intelligence.

Last post. Have fun slamming away about that horrible woman who saved Maya's life. You'll be talking to each other. I won't waste any more time reading this junk. I have dogs to train.

That's not what I am thinking at all, that is the point! I think you have a point, but alas, for a newbie you can't shame us all with one post. You can try to take your own advice, the one where you grow from it, and there can be things to discuss.

by triodegirl on 20 September 2012 - 02:09

It's all my fault.

by beetree on 20 September 2012 - 02:09

Now, now, just fix it! That's it.  Clever Doable, yes?  You are physically up for the job? Yes? Sounds like this is make or break time, is all!

by triodegirl on 20 September 2012 - 02:09

All fixed.

by beetree on 20 September 2012 - 07:09

LOL.... Did the Spray Shield actually work?  I must admit, I am rather skeptical about it all! Don't you think too, that this could be a lesson for the future, that some givers do expect more with their help and generosity? I'm hoping you mean it when you say fixed, for your dogs and your own sake.

And you know, I probably know more about your personal health and dog history than Rocks. Just maybe. So you know my question was not asked lightly.
