4-pack Just FYI Diamond had a huge problem a couple of months ago where there dog food was contaminated with some sort of bacteria and a few dogs died from it. It was posted on the message board here and i think they had a big recall. Just FYI.

Not if they have similar levels of fat and protein. I don't always change my foods, I just happen to need to change and while searching, mixed it togethger with every bag I got, so it wouldn't be a strait change for the dogs gut. Right now I have a puppy finishing a bag of one brand, while 2 others are mixed for my adults. Last week I had a 1/2 bag of 1 added to a different kind we tried before that. Took 5 tries but I found what works for me and my dogs and will stick to it, unless a change is needed down the road.

Yes I remember reading that. EDD Thanks for the reminder. I didn't retain that because I never fed it and didn't think I would. Well crap! Maybe the search continues.... :o(

4Pack, Yes diamond did have a recall on feeds... From ONLY one Plant though. Not all of Diamond feeds were affected, and it was not even they're fault. They recalled to make certain no other dogs were affected, They did the right thing other companies just never admit to it. I am completely comfortable with it and preffer it to some of the other choices out there. Hope this helps ease your mind, Choose what you wish obviously but just thought I would clear that up.

Thanks Echo, I was thinking how may feeds have been bad or recalled? Also some brands keep changing their formulas, whats up with that? What I am looking for is good quality, that doesn't change. Some change their source of protein on every batch, depending on whats available or cheapest. I like Innova, expensive but my dogs like it, problem it's too much protein for the showline, old lady. She was on Eagle Pack when she came over and if that what it does for a dogs coat, I aint goin' there! I buy in bulk and I can't have 3 or 4 brands to suit everybodies individual needs. Already have puppy formula to buy and soon enough senior. My adults need a happy medium they can all eat. I switched brands on someones request. I pay for it, but he can't stand to see me spend $30 a bag I guess. With more dogs coming in, I do need to stay at that or less. We have a great pet food whearhouse an hour and a half from here and it's tough to beat the price, and selection is awesome. I found the Diamond here local and went with it.

Your Very welcome, I would only add that my dogs love it, It smells very fresh, is a smaller kibble which my dogs seem to preffer, The waste is minimal and not smelly and stools are nicely formed. I really like it it's my feed of choice when I can get it, hense the reasons for mixing others as to not upset tummy's when I can't get it. Anyway I love it, dogs love it, coats look good, energy levels are good, stamina is good, puppies do great on it ! What more can I say... I've had no problems with it at all. Good luck.

Great! All the reasons I wanted it for as well. My dogs prefer the smaller kibble too.
