Stacking poses are natural. I've most often photographed my dogs by doing the "stand in motion" exercise from IPO, then walking sideways to take a picture rather than 15 paces out and turning around (or whatever it is). Chances are, the harder it is or longer it takes to set the dog up for the photo, the less natural it will look. Many people hand-stand a dog and just don't do it right, so it doesn't look natural, because it's not. Also often when people spend a lot of time hand-stacking a dog, the dog is bored or doesn't like it or is confused and it shows. They need to look "up" and alert, just like they do when naturally pausing/stacking to check out a person walking past the house, an animal passing by, etc.

Bubba, if you are who I think you are, I sent you a video of Ilsa when she was younger, maybe four or six months old, because I was looking to you for a good match to her genetics. I think at this time, you were making your kennel smaller, too.

I believe you told me positive things about her.

My comments had nothing to do with the dog .. I only addressed stacking which I do not agree is a natural pose nor is stacking or posing useful for evaluating a dog. Video clips and of course in person evaluation ( the gold standard ) is the method useful for evaluating a dog's physical and mental profile through movement. Stacking evaluations are useless and should not be taken seriously as any qualitative evaluation of a dog.
