??? Free Puppy??? Anyone done this? - Page 3

I think most breeders have at some time given a pup away... I know I have... Two of my sisters each got one... I co-owned Gazi with my younger sister, and we showed him for quite a while... 7 pts, 1 major, Reserve at Westminster... My older sister I gave Badger, as she lived in an iffy area, She told me for years how nice it was to feel safe, that houses all around her had been hit but when Badge's head showed up in the window the robbers went elsewhere.  I gave a 6 month old sweet female to a friend as the dog needed a person with more time than I had, and she'd suffered a loss in her life and needed a dog. She and Echo were inseperable for the next 12 years. Echo's brother was my pick of the litter, but personal stressers @ that time in my life made it best that I not keep him, and @ 10 weeks I gave him to a couple who had lost their beloved Rottie. 

But this poster I think was asking about giving a dog in the sole hope of having one of their dogs titled by someone in Dog Sport, rather than giving someone they knew needed the Puppyluv a dog.  In the case where I had desires/needs from the placement the dogs were placed on terms with me holding the papers.  If it's for the sake of the person rather than to have a titled dog from your litter, it's fine to let them go without contracts to someone you know well... Depends on the situation.
