ADA has done many good things for many disabled people. The problem always becomes what is and is not abuse of such a regulation. Someone recently asks me about if they can keep dog they want to train as service dog (to sell, not for themselves) in a college dorm where animals are not allowed. This would be easy to move to private housing where a dog was allowed, but person wants to make a stink about it under ADA rights. I do not know enough about how law is interpreted, but I see people all the time who say they have service dog when do really is not a service dog except in that persons mind. I think sometimes a few people ruin just about every kind of situation for the rest of society. That is selfish.

There's a huge thread on this on another board and the father is participating. I'd probably read it backwards since there was a lot of speculation and discussion about things totally irrelevent but there are some very knowledgeable people on that board, plus more details from the boys father...
