Would be interesting to see progeny of him vs. his littermates who have higher zw scores. I wonder what the numbers of litters are on each, AND how many have been tested by the SV. The issue in interpreting zw scores lies in the WHY behind the numbers...often they are misleading. If a litter has a low zw as pups, and then many are bred and some aren't, and the ones who are bred have much higher zw scores now, does that mean that the one who hasn't been bred (or whose progeny haven't been scored) has/produces better hips? Of course not; like anything else, zw scores are simply a piece of the puzzle. I pay close attention to them on old, well-established breeding animals, not quite so much on young dogs or imports whose progeny likely were not scored by SV.

I haven't done any research on Jim Beam, have no idea what his deal is. I'm just speaking generally.
