Get on mobile. Android 5.1.1. Carrier MetroPcs USA I think primarily w Chome as browser but I do also use the native Android browser so will try to pay attn to that piece. So far on this thread on Chrome it is a no show.

I have occasionally gotten on other sites usually the over rich ad sites where the "article" is done as a slideshow & the only "purpose" is to expose u to the ads. I close browser & just dont return. It does seem to be ad related & perhaps Oli beeds to upline the complaints to his ad servers.

As Christine noted have run my virus programs etc and appear clean. These problems appear to be site specific so presuming PDB is also clean that leaves us with rogue ads that the ad servers need to find a way of detecting & eliminating.

I went and exchanged my old modem for a new one. The tech guy on the phone who needed to push the right buttons for the new install, insists it isn't the modem. Of course, he would say that. I've done just about everything one can possibly do to get rid of the redirects. I can tell you, they end in .xyz, too. I can stop them from loading, but not the page redirect by blocking certain servers. I can stop them from redirecting, only by disabling JAVA but that doesn't get rid of them.

I reset my wi-fi routers, to the factory settings. So, if this doesn't work, the only thing left is to wipe the hard drive!

Anyone else think of anything I missed, please mention it.

Fingers crossed!

I downloaded Firefox through Yahoo then added uBlock Origin offered on Firefox site.
No problems now use a desktop computer but believe it should work on a laptop or phone.

I am pretty ecstatic to report about not getting ANY redirects on any computer or device, since replacing my old modem with a new one!

The cable tech guy was wrong! 😊

My research on this matter seems to indicate a progression is learned through a target users habits. That explains certain differences and how a build up happens.

If the person who PMd me doesn't see a problem anymore and also states they didn't do a thing to make a change, that is probably the answer. The more one does, the more there is to learn...just by whom.... is the question.

I would recommend exchanging your modems for new ones, for those folks who have tried everything else, to no avail. It just makes sense. Why risk the fake site scams to get your private info?

It was easy for me, I went to my cable provider, handed them the modem and they gave me the new one. Easy Peasy.

I just clicked on the third page of the "magic wand" topic and got sent here instead.

https://s-cdn-creative.medialytics.com/raw_assets/servo_prod/campaigns/CA-DEJT966/creatives/CR-PQ67ATH/versions/1/?post=882022-if-you-had-a-magic-wand&p=3

It wasn't a redirect. It just took me to this page instead of the actual third page of the post. If you look at the link, it has the last part of the PDB URL in its URL.

I think that since it can't redirect me anymore, it's finding new ways to make me view ads. This happened twice today.

I clicked on the third page of the "magic wand" topic 4 times and each time it took
me to the page with no problem. Check whichever you use computer, laptop or phone for malware.
I do use uBlock Origin through Firefox all the correct PDB ads show up but no others.

I checked my phone for malware using the things suggested above and used factory reset. I got an entirely new wireless internet system, also, since the last one was ruined in a lightning storm. I'm going to go buy a new cellphone soon because this one is starting to show its age.
