I'd say less property protectors (territory animals) and a small dent in the Second Ammendment Patriot's (kill 4 million Americans)..... Jihad knows our Second Ammendment is NOT about duck hunting. FYI ........ Second Amendment: declares "a well regulated militia" as "necessary" to maintaining a free state, and as explanation for prohibiting infringement of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms." How will Islamic Resistance ever take over America and make us all slaves with a Sharia Law, if "we the people" protect our Second Amendment NOW !!!! And have a "plan" when they think they have control of "we the people". This is serious people, look into Islamic Resistance ... it came to America on Sept. 11, 2001. Fact. This will not be about Cowboys and Indians this time people ... it will be "we the people" united for one Beautiful Flag of Freedom ... not the Jihad Flag. We can do it. We need to focus on our individual states we each live in ... once we reach all states in agreement, all states are united for Lady Liberty. if we cannot do that.. we have failed all who fought for our Bill of Rights and United States Constitition. If we can do that... America will live on as the Red, White and Blue flag of Freedom. The choice is yours right now, for America's children tomorrow. Jihad is here. And they plan the take down of our Flag and all America stands for .... what will you do?

Copied and pasted from the Royal Canin U.S.A. website: Frequently Asked Questions and Answers (Updated April 21 2007) April 19, 2007 Dear Royal Canin USA Customer, It is with sincere regret that I inform you of a new and unfortunate development with some of our pet food products. Although we have no confirmed cases of illness in pets, we have decided to voluntarily remove the following dry pet food products that contain rice protein concentrate due to the presence of a melamine derivative. ROYAL CANIN SENSIBLE CHOICE® (available in pet specialty stores nationwide) - Chicken Meal & Rice Formula Senior DRY DOG FOOD - Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Puppy DRY DOG FOOD - Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Adult DRY DOG FOOD - Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Senior DRY DOG FOOD - Rice & Catfish Meal Formula Adult DRY DOG FOOD ROYAL CANIN VETERINARY DIET™ (available only in veterinary clinics) - Canine Early Cardiac EC 22™ - Canine Skin Support SS21™ - Feline Hypoallergenic HP23™ We are taking this proactive stance to voluntarily recall these products to avoid any confusion for our customers about which Royal Canin USA products are safe and which products may be affected. In addition, Royal Canin USA will no longer use any Chinese suppliers for any of our vegetable proteins. It appears that the rice formula foods have a detected contaminant, as was several days ago discovered in some other foods produced and/or distributed by Royal Canin U.S.A.. Why does Royal Canin purchase components from other countries? Perhaps it is because they are a global company whose headquarters are in France-their country of origin. They are global in nature, and we do not have food purity laws that require all food components to be grown in the U.S.A.. However, being a foreign-held (to the U.S.A., that is) company DOES NOT release them from any liability stemming from their choice(s) of suppliers for the products manufactured and sold in the U.S.A. and they must share the guilt of making poor choices as to who they use as suppliers. I guess that my background forces me to ask these questions: How long has this been going on and when did they find out about it? Does any canine/feline (or human) food manufacturer know when this practice began, and how far it went? And if they knew, why did they not correct it? Again, this reaches far past the world of canine/feline food and is present in the things that we consume as well. I like the statement made by Royal Canin <<<<<>>>>> Why did they use these suppliers before? Because at least for the U.S.A. operation the nation of China has a "most favoured nation" trading (really the dumping of cheap, substandard, as well as illegally-copied and produced products) partnership with the U.S.A.. I am careful in my comments as the Pedigreedatabase forum is not meant to be a place for the posting of anything that does not pertain to the well-being and preservation of the German Shepherd Dog, but this does affect our favourite breed, and perhaps us as well. In closing I demand that Royal Canin U.S.A. and other canine/feline food manufacturers get their act together so this can never happen again. If this requires legislative efforts to make this possible, then it requires just that. The canine/feline foods may become a bit more expensive, but I think we are talking about pennies per sack. I realize that the cheaper foods sold in discount stores are a very low-margin product and a few pennies per bag has a major impact on the profitability of manufacturing these products, but it is what it is. The manufacturers can pinch their lower lip and stand to the challenge, or find some other business venue. And, I'll stand down from my rant for a while, Bob-O (ranting Bob-O)

Bob-O Thank you for the post. This is the information that I have had. Roborob, this list provided by Bob does not include the gsd 24 or others for that matter. My concern is that once a serious topic hits the board, panic and kaos set in and lots of inaccurate information gets spread around. I do not know who Reuters byline is? But it appears that they did not report accurate information as not all of R.C. dry has been recalled. That was my point. I appreciate your heart and sincerity. This situation was just the tip of the iceburg for me. Way, way too much information goes across the internet that is damaging to innocent people and sets off a chain reaction of nonsense.Personally I think it is going to cause more harm then good in the long run, just too many opportunities for those that want to cause problems. Thanks for understanding

As with most "first" news reported accuracy isn't always 100%, Rueters did say on Friday that ALL RC products were being recalled...I/they stand corrected and by no means did I ever desire to start a panic here on the database about RC 24 for GSDs... I have made the decision to not use RC now or in the future, its both my loss and RCs...My guess is is that this is not over and could very well be the tip of the iceberg as you suggest...The story seems to have changed too many times if you ask me...Who do you trust...??? I always said within my posts that I am not the final/last word on anything, it was a heads up to those with concerns... Rob

Bob-O. I always respect your comments which are intelligent and restrained. Like many others, I have been following the Royal Canin recall and comments. May I add another dimension to this problem. I feed my two dogs exclusively Royal Canin prescription foods, available only through vets and costing an arm and leg. My female eats Rabbit and Potato because of grain allergies. My male can eat only Low Fat/Low Fiber because of inflammatory bowel disease. In the past several months both have been on and off backorder with no explanation, most recently the Rabbit kibble and currently the LF canned. In addition, the color and consistency of both canned products have changed noticeably with no change to the label content. Again there has been no explantion, even when I called their customer service line. While there may be alternative things I can feed my female, I have searched in vain for an alternative for my male. It is a constant source of worry, and I have lost faith that the large corporations truly have the best interests of their customers in mind. I understand business realities, but not at the expense of my dogs.
