Jerland Farms along with the owner Larry Jerland is one of the greatest place to visit and to find a German Shepherd with chapion bloodlines, from show quality to house pets....
I personally have been there twice and purchased each time, the last visit, I came home with two pups, one female and one male.
With out a doubt, they are the highest of quality dogs you will ever find! I also have a 6 year old son, whom I guard with my life, our dogs give him so much love, kindness and look out for him.... he could yank on their hair, run at them, do anything he wants to them and they would just sit there and lick him, they sleep with him.
To me, our dogs are show quality, the smartest dogs I ever trained, and very, very loyal.
When I read some of these posts, I get angry and very offended by the logic (Or lack of) some people carry through... it is NOT the fault of the dog or Jerland, it is ultimately the owner of the dogs responsibility to teach, train and care for these dogs from day one, it is a constant learning for you and the dogs, most people here don't even try or continue to teach and learn from the dogs, and truly people, that is just sad and wrong.
Most of you want a refund or demand something in return for YOUR failure, most of you should take a good look at yourselves before degrading others, I feel sorry for the dogs involved, yes, some are more difficult to train than others, all of them have different personalities, but yet, so do you.
If you truly love the dog, they will love you, become a leader with them, best friend, companion... German Shepherds are eager to please by working, not being avoided.
So please, for your dogs sake and yours, take the time to teach them, love them, care for them unconditionally, and I promise you, you will see a difference in your life and theirs.

mrf3409 how can you say it is not the fault of jerland that a dog that was born there sat in a cage the entire 8 months of her life, alone, untrained, and unloved, just because she was not valued at $1,500 or more when she was a baby and they quote "didn't have time" to do anything with her? it was not jerland's fault they did nothing with her? whose fault was it then. she didn't even have a name when i got her, that's how little they thought of her. all you happy people, how old were your dogs when you got them? did they rot in a kennel for months before you picked them up or did you pay big bucks for a so-called quality baby puppy? the girl i had was so terrified of people, everybody thought she must have been abused before i got her. so whose fault was it? the woman i gave her to said she did get a little better over the next year, but she was still a far cry from the confident, outgoing dog i wanted (and eventually got thanx to vom haus millers). sure i could have exchanged the poor thing for another jerland dog, but why condemn her to living in a cage again? when i bought her, he said to the dog, today's your lucky day, you get a home. i felt like i was getting a dog out of the pound. so yeah i chose losing the $500 over jailing her again. i am not campaigning against jerland, you want to buy from them and be happy then that's your business. they sure lost mine.
