Protesters from Greenpeace are seen on a balcony at the BP headquarters in central London on May 20. The men climbed on the balcony and attached a flag, staining the company's logo with 'oil' and changing the words to "British Polluters."

I am not a "Tree Hugger" but what's happening in the Gulf is down right frightening.

I live only 50 miles inland of the Mississippi coast.  There are things taking place that I don't think are getting reported such as over 130 dead sea turtles washing up on the Miss. coast.  2nd and 3rd Generation commercial fishermen and shrimpers say they have never seen such.

Other such wildlife phenomenons are happening.  They estimate it is due to chemical being dropped from the air to disperse the oil slick, which is causing the oil to go to the ocean floor where the sea life feeds.

What will happen to us when we eat the contaminated shrimp, oysters, fish, etc.

It terrifies me too.  This and what is going on in Europe.  Life as we know it is about to change.  I, for one am going to enjoy every day and not take one for granted.

Thank God for our dogs.  I for one find sanity being around them, maybe they are our barometers.

I hope Kevin Costner's idea works. Anything to reach success. My son's science class did an experiment where the kids brought in different items and tested them to see what would remove oil from water the best. My son grabbed a plastic spoon from the cafeteria. It was one of the most successful in his class. We need everybody and our govt's thinking and solving this calamity.

Beetree,
there is no solving of this calamity and thats not what it is.
It's a man made disaster and a killing of part of the natural world.

Dead is dead, you can't pick that up with a spoon.

Tuff is right, there is a lot your not being told.

Makes me physically sick to my stomach.

And it's not over yet.

Moons.

That's non-sense.

You can't lay this at his feet.

I don't care much for him either at this point, but put the blame where blame is due.

Hi Raymond,
long time no see....  I think.

by tuffscuffleK9 on 21 May 2010 - 20:05

Well, I don't like Obama and his bogus cabinet at all.

And we should expect them to be on the front lines of this man-made disaster with the same tenacity as they had with the ALMIGHTY HEALTH CARE DEBACLE.

BUT IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY?????????????????

Obama would rather let it destroy the gulf for in order to prove his political agenda of - NO OFFSHORE DRILLING!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE BIGGER THE DISASTER - - - - - - THE GREATER THE ANOINTED ONE'S IMAGE WILL BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LET THE CHEER BE:    NOBAMA - - - NOBAMA - - - NOBAMA - - - NOBAMA - - - NOBAMA - - - NOBAMA - - - NOBAMA

By the way BP and all there partners involved in the drilling need to and have stepped up and taken responsibility.  But, this is way bigger than these companies.  We need government intervention in order to save the gulf from Texas all around through the Keys.
