I am now able to transfer the creator to another user. Please contact me with dog/s link.

I wouldn't mind being assigned editting rights either, if/when it comes to it. I've filled in a lot of gaps in pedigrees, as well as added a few dogs in the past... simply because I enjoy doing the research. Doesn't mean I own them, and I honestly couldn't name one that I've added off the top of my head. LOL
Will there be a way to look up the dogs "under your control" and "relinquish your rights" to their pedigrees, or maybe a tick-box when adding a new dog to indicate whether you are the owner or not?

Again, the system is in place to transfer creator status, please PM me a link to the dog/s you want transferred.

Laken1981 then you should be happy with the new method. The old one allowed anyone and everyone to change anyones pedigrees and that was happening.
The new way limits only the creator of the pedigree to make changes. Admins have always been able and will still be able.
If you sell a dog then you can transfer the rights to the new owner to update a pedigree. Many new owners may work and aquire a working or dshow title and want to add that or any health tests that they did they may wish to add. These are things that the breeder/seller of the puppy/dog would not know about and it would never get done.
The new owner has pride in their dog and wants to post the achivements why would you not want that if you were the breeder.

Laken, to be frank about it, a lot of people just plain suck when it comes to entering pedigrees. When I helped a friend enter her dogs on the database a few months ago, I found out one of the dogs had a bitch listed as its sire in the 3rd generation, and there were other errors galore! Many people just enter their dog's name, and his/her immediate ancestors, and can't be bothered to link the ancestors up with other dogs on the database, let alone inserting titles, colour, registration numbers or even the registry.
Then, members like me come along who care about the details (and the mods and the other members who have been designated to help with the pedigrees) and fix it up for them, so the pedigree is actually of some value for someone wanting to research their dog's ancestry.

I have one small request - please please only send me links from beta pedigrees, it will be much easier for us and quicker.

by GSD Admin on 30 May 2015 - 17:05
Please only send me links form beta pedigrees. The only way to transfer the pedigree is in beta version so to send me a link from the old version of PDB makes it that much slower to transfer the dog.

There needs to be something done about this, my own personal dogs pedigrees are locked by someone else as if they own them. I can't even update my own dogs personal information. If there is going to be locks on pedigrees then someone needs to show they own the dog. I'm very upset that I can't even update or access my own personal dogs pedigrees. =(

In reading futher I see what's going on. I have been a member for a long time, but never used it due to the problems with people changing pedigrees which is why other people have put in dogs. I'm glad you have it solved & can change it. I don't kow how to use the beta, but I will go & try. I'll send you my dogs links as soon as possable.
Thanks for doing this, I understands quirks will need to be worked out, but t really needed to be done. =)
