I'm so sorry for your loss, I had to get my shepherd put down at the begining of the year. I have just got another one and It helps me deal with the loss. I would have got one straight away but there wasn't any to get, black working lines. I still shed a tear and miss her, though I remind myself heaven is a peacful place and there there is no pain. I have watched your story unfold and I cried with you. I think what people should always remember is not to stop at one vets advice, get another if not another. I have found this to be my savour through out the years and you would be suprised how many vets get it wrong, your $$$$$. Ever if you have to travel great distances, it could be the matter of life or death of my best friend so I'd do it. And years ago vets used to tell us to go and get a second opinion, now they can fail their job and still you will have to pay. I had a dog live until 17.5 yrs old, and what a happy life dhe lived. I didn't give her much processed food, I cook meat, vegies, rice or pasta. I do believe what we feed them has alot to answer for. Then I believe we are in the same boat, lol. I am so sorry for your loss, and my prayers will still go out to you. Ena
