Whatever Degree course you took, BW, it failed to teach you that it is possible to write diplomatically, yet still make your viewpoint known. You want an example: this thred. (Page 5 - where you accuse people of telling falsehoods, 'cos their experiences do not accord with yours.  What: you didn't notice you pissed off Smiley, never mind Xeph ? They had neither insulted you nor generalised about your experiences).

Oh...so accusing someone of lying is equal to calling someone names...calling someone "uneducated." Right...keep reaching. Like you do with most of the things you post on this forum.

Take a step back from the big boy table...you'll never get a seat anyways.

Whatever.

I'll spell it out for you since you're clearly personal insult removed to get the point of why I went into it with smiley and MAINLY xeph.

I know what club she was at. I know the people of that club. When I asked to know the name of the club, you know, make it public, xeph refused. Why you might ask? If she keeps it private, no one can refute her abstract story. It could've been any club in the United States! But if she names the club, there will be people that can dispute her story...others will be contacted, someone will call her out for her "version" of the story.

You chose to side with xeph. She likes the same type of dog you do. She stands for what you stand for with GSDs and the breed. You two think alike. You like her more than you like the people (like myself) telling you that it's not enough and more needs to be done. So that's where you dropped it and why you keep siding with xeph. All you need is her side of the story...no one else's story can be true but hers! You two are best buds! She'd never lie to you or twist a story to make herself look like a victim. Her story is just another one for you to add to your bank that shows how noninclusive IPO clubs are and how it's impossible to train and title a dog unless you're best friends with so and so or have the most amazing dog in the world. Instead of visiting clubs...you have stories, not realizing how many of them are exaggerations of the truth or all out false.

But don't believe me. I know you won't. You care more about the messenger than the message. You need to learn to understand WHY so much information is left out. Why information is missing. There are reasons why you can never know the whole story...even when pressed. But that's really tough to do because it takes critical thinking skills and an understanding of how people function in the GSD/dog world...since you've not really been in it, you can't possibly understand how much information is withheld and not told. It's alright though, you're an end user, you just worry about one dog at a time and are happy listening to wonderful stories about dogs. For the rest of us, we have to be cynical, and read through the lines and lines of BS we're constantly being fed about each and every dog.

It is so sad when a thread becomes no more than two people bickering and being rude to ALL the other members who may have a desire to post a good point.

What a shame  I so wish more people would study the art of debating. We could then have some great topic "discussed".

by Bavarian Wagon on 03 February 2017 - 20:02

My apologies Western Rider...I have on multiple occasions reported the posts in which I was directly name called and nothing was done about it. If that's the art of debate you're talking about, it's not what was taught to me. If that's what is accepted on this forum as debate though, I can happily sink to that level and instead of posting information just call people names in order to make myself sound smarter.

You posted a complaint today I took care of it  You then complained again about the same thing that I took care of and hour earlier.

Please remember I don't live on the board I have several horses and dogs to take care of.

Woah ! There you go again with the ASSumptions, BW (Sorry, Western Rider, but this DOES need saying). Xeph and I DO NOT like the same sort of dog; she's got ASLs, we don't have ASLs in England and I don't like the odd couple that have been brought over here, or their get.
The only dog of Xeph's I liked for structure was the service dog she just lost - and Xeph never did agree with me about his physical appearance; I liked what she told us about his temperament too, but there is never any way unless you live with the dog that you can tell if another owner's assessment is the same as your own, is there ? I am not actually taking Xeph's part, over anybody else's that you have lashed out at; I feel your insults to all and sundry equally with those you subject me to, that's all there is to that. Xeph & I manage to disagree on Show type without angering each other. And it isn't me who has had half a dozen other recent posters queuing up to 'shout' at him for his arrogance, is it ? Nor is it me running to the Mods to level complaints, for that matter.

You do like the same type of dog…remedial obedience is all that’s necessary to prove “working ability” because IPO or anything higher level isn’t available within 5 minutes of your home. I usually wouldn’t be able to make such a statement because once again the status quo wants to blow smoke and make a big deal about any type of titling. Of course a RN is the same as an IPO1…I mean, you took your 6 month old into a ring, on leash, and it did some things. Praise be upon thee! You fight for the same thing she does, you’re again too blind to see it. You fight against minimum titling requirements because you want to believe that breeders have the best interests of the breed and their customers at heart, when really without comparing their dogs to other people, they lose quality with every generation. You hang your hat on the handful you believe are doing the right thing and make it out like the few exceptions to the rule are going to save the breed from it’s current state.

Btw…for every one person you claim is lining up to “shout” at me…I’ve got two patting me on the back for speaking it like it is. Again…your side of the story or the story you choose to believe, isn’t the only one out there. Raise your standards, stop believing that your buddies have your best interests at heart, and maybe then you’ll figure out where I’m coming from.

As to the running to the mods comment...I've played the forum game before. If I react with a personal attack of my own onto you...you report it, I get in trouble. If I'm the first to report it, we avoid that issue, hopefully you get a warning one of these times and they actually explain to you what not to do.
