SchHBabe

Disclaimer: This post is written by a "working" dog person Can one of the "show" people please explain to me why we are breeding GSD's with roached backs and sloping rears? As I look back through the photos of the Siegers on this site I see that the GSD did not always have a banana back. Over the years it's becoming more pronounced in the show lines. I'm sorry if you think this is "nasty" of me to ask such a question, but I really don't know why the show people are making this change to breed.

[nods head in agreement] I very strongly feel that neither the overangulation of the American breds or the roached back of the German show dogs, is what the breed founder intended. German dogs are getting a lot of angulation too, and I recently came across a video of a German line dog walking on its hocks, just like the really bad American showdogs.
