     Felloffher,,,

Without faith it is impossible to believe the scriptures...But, being that I am not previs to whom God will save and when, I will do my best to explain what I believe about the scriptures as I understand them....In hope that someone might benefit......: )

   ------------------------Answer to the first question....

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is typically understood to mean the sin of unbelief....In other words not possessing faith.....

    -----------------------Answer to last two questions......

1John 1.....In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... Also known as the teaching of the Trinity....Not easily explained in a single post....
or 20 for that matter...: )

I do not see any contradictions in these scriptures....: )

Felloffher

There are no contradictions in Bible. Only lack of understanding of Bible.
If you really want to know the answer to above mentioned "contradictions" then go study and ask someone who have done such study.
There are much more complicated issues in Bible then the easy ones which you have mentioned. These so called contradictions are there  just to encourage us to study these and thus to study Bible itself. Bible is not just a story book. There are many, maybe infinity, of levels of knowledge there. Once you grasp one such level new level with new questions will open and when these are answered next one opens and so on.
If you or anyone really want to know the answers to the questions posted above go to Bible study. That is if you do not have closed mind and truly want to know the truth about these questions.
Also please keep in mind that because of different levels of questions not everybody will be able to answer them for you. That does not mean that there are no answers.
..... absence of evidence is not evidence of absence....as they say.

One thing always amazes me and even Bible talks about it. Why atheist get angry and insulting every time  when you mention God. I believe it is a fear that you may be pointing to something which they may be missing and may be just maybe you may be right. I have ones seen a bumper sticker. These are sometimes snippets of wisdom. It said :

If you believe that there is no God, then you better be right

Take care and God bless you.

Guys,

This isn't a matter of who's right or wrong and there is no fear in me when god is mentioned. As I pointed out earlier, it seems to me only Christians that believe in god feel the need to push there religion on others as the truth. Again, I'm sure there are many other faiths represented here and not one has taken the opportunity to use this board as a platform to push their views. This is the main point of my contention.

Forums should be an open place to discuss things, but a couple of posters here aren't discussing anything they're preaching. I don't have any ill will towards god, Buddha, Allah, Krishna or towards any people that hate any or all of the above, but out of respect for other faiths and/or cultures most people only discuss religion in appropriate venues or with those who ask.  This is the reason for my "I hate bible thumpers thread" and my choice to challenge the thoughts on a couple other threads. I have intentionally been abrasive to illustrate this point. I could have been a little more diplomatic approaching this topic, but I wanted to make sure the point was driven home. I've seen what Christianity has to offer, I know the answers to the contradictions I posted and to me in a nut shell this is why I don't believe. But, I'm not going to tell everyone I encounter, post it all over forums in an attempt to sway others view or beliefs.

I'm not going to post in the OT area anymore, but I hope some of you will think about others before posting.

How do you tell right from wrong?

Very Simple, if I do something and don't hear sirens, then I believe it was right!

Fell,
I know you will read this; It's not always what you say but how you say it. The other night one of your posts (can't remember which thread?) stated that your wifes' parents were okay even though the village was destroyed/wiped away. Now on a personal note, how did you feel? And did you think a higher being had "looked out for them" or "protected them"? Some things can't and never will be explained but if a person has a head on their shoulders (and it's not always about believing)  they know a higher being interviened and the situation could have gone the other way or worse.

The 10 commandments in the Bible tell us right from wrong.  As well as other Biblical teachings.  Nonbelievers do not understand the Bible like believers and become defensive.

Felloffher, I don't think anyone's preaching for the most part. If anything your so stuck on what you believe that every additional post contributing to anything biblical be it scientific theory or scripture you oppose it.

No matter (pun intended) what you or anyone else says on the previous threads .. tornados exist, but a tornado sweeping by and threw a junkyard cannot build a 5 star 5 diamond hotel without intelligent design.

With your logic its pointless to even try to learn about scientific theory or prophecy, might as well just wait til you die kinda think.

Whateva is your case, the nebulous theory of intelligent design exists (pun intended) both by science and biblical scripture. But, it can never be tested until a known source is identified. The only source known to man with a possible ID is in Genesis. Believe it or not.

I hope you stick around, without you in the OT section and your posts.. there is no means to actually think or rethink about what is and what isn't. LOL
