LOL Red! Reminds me of the time when my lil' sis called my brother a "dildoe" at the dinner table. You could have heard a pin drop!  She had no idea what she said, just heard it somewhere and thought it was a good insult.

Ha ha.
Ya, I also remember the time my younger sister had her first date, and her date asked her what the little thingy hanging down at the back of her throat was, and she told him it was a hymen!

LOL.  Gotta love innocence.

RedS: That reminds of this story of when I was probably seven or eight, and I wanted a new mattress because the coils had sprung and were poking me. My mom got a real strange look on her face  when I complained and said, "Mom, I can't sleep on that mattress anymore. There are all these pricks in my bed!"

The actual reason I created this topic is to see how some atheist friends here on this forum will respond. But I guess some of them are playing hide and seek. So; I decided to help Christians here how easy atheist can get stuck with this question.

If you are atheist – how do you tell right from wrong?

Here is one of the responds I have found that I will share here.

One atheist said/told – that’s easy – I decide!! What’s right and wrong. (Atheist said - I’m the God of my own universe)

I said I’m glad to here about that – because I’m going to shoot you in 5 minutes, atheist said you can’t do that, I said oh yea - yes I can. You see I’m the God of my own universe and I decided its fine for me to shoot you.

You see were this logic would lead in a hurry, if every man did that which is right in his own eyes, serious problems for society - big time.

How do you tell right from wrong? Simple question ask evolutionist – they don’t know how way to tell.

Maybe Saddam Bin Laden should decide right from wrong, huh?

I mean how do you tell right from wrong? Simple!
It’s really easy to tell right from wrong!!

Thus saith the Lord… (413 times in Bible)
Now I see “That is absolute”

Some people either don’t know what God says or maybe they just don’t care what God says.

Ok Stahl,

Time to challenge your narrow views again. It's not a game of hide and seek, it's just difficult to listen to the ignorant ramblings of someone that uses the bible as their only source of information.

Simply put ethics, morals and law are influenced by a societies common standard or principle and determine what's right or wrong.

You assume anyone that doesn't believe in god is an atheist or an evolutionist, does this automatically make them an anarchist too?  I consider my self non-religious, I would say some of my moral and ethical views on what's right and wrong share common ground with religion, but that's where it ends. My values have been influenced by family, friends and life experience.

Again, your narrow minded view that Christianity is the only way to obtain a unified, civil society through god is retarded. Christianity like many other religions has been used by man as an attempt to obtain these goals. Fear and intimidation of the wrath of god has been used to brainwash men to do things they wouldn't have done otherwise. How many countries have been conquered and how many people have been murdered in the name of god through out our history?

I would suggest spending some time in Japan (obviously not now) if you think a society without your god can't achieve spiritual peace, sound ethics, strong moral value and a deep respect for one another. If I was in search of religion Shinto (one of the oldest religons known to man) or Buddhism is where I would start.

One Russian atheist astronomer came to US, spoke at University.
He said, folks - either there is God or there isn’t.
I thought – wow that is a brilliant conclusion to come too!!

But then he said - both possibilities are frightened; I thought wow that is a brilliant statement!!
He said – you see if there is a God – we better (should) find out who he is and find out what he wants and do what he says. If there is no God – we are in trouble; we hurtling through space - 66 thousand miles an hour and nobody is in charge. LOL: “This is scary thought”

Here is the image below that I found

Shtal,

Can you address my last post with any of your own thoughts on the subject? The copy & paste thing is starting to make me think you haven’t formulated an opinion and that you lack any understanding of your beliefs. Is this because you believe what you’re told to believe?
