Thats why the last thing i want to see is the score book and the first thing i want to see is the dog work. IPO is not a true test of a dogs abilities.

It's when you take them off the field and don't give them any of the usual cues for protection like a yelling decoy or putting on a harness that some confusion can occur.
Training every possible situation you can think of like biting on rooms, having objects thrown at the dog, being struck by objects, sprayed with water, biting hidden equipment, ambush scenarios, suits, sleeves, screaming decoys, silent decoys, friendly / combative decoys, multiple bad guys, bitework in the dark etc etc.
The more you do the stronger the dog gets if he learns to win in all these scenarios.
