Keith Grossman

"Keith - Tyson - oversized? I used to co-own him and can assure you that he's definitely not anywhere near oversized. He's actually a medium-sized male. Very plush coat may make him look a little larger but he weighed 68 lbs when I had him."

You're right, danbee, I am thinking of the wrong dog.  There were so many I looked at at the time and I'm pretty sure I talked to Steve about Tyson somewhere in there.  So help me out here...the dog I was thinking of was maybe one of Bill Fleisher's?...very nice dog but big...it would have been late 2002 or early 2003.  Who the heck was he?

I like 75-85lbs.

Most dogs I have seen that get larger say 95+ end up with health issues in way or another because it intensifies the small flaws in structure so much more. Such as a slight up right shoulder. It has to withstand much more pounding over the dogs life span and creates issues down the line. Many examples of this in dogs who work for a living( police k9, sar, etc...) as the dogs end up retired early as the dogs can not withstand the pounding of the extra weight anymore.

I personally own a rescue who is 98lbs at working weight(a rescue due to insufficient handler). He is almost 6 and i have to limit his work from time to time because his heart is still in the fight but his body isnt. If he is allowed to much he will be slow and achy for a few days.

I think a lot of People have the big dog small pecker syndrome. And has caused the breed a lot of anguish due to breeding for oversized out of standard dogs..

My females are under 70 thats how I like them. Males I would not want anything bigger than 90lb. My favorite other breed is Dachshund so you know I like them small and mean ;)

No way!  The next thing you'll be telling us is that people are living vicariously through their dogs by thinking that having dogs that are bad asses makes them bad asses by association.
