You think that people who accept SS are taking handouts?  They have no sense of pride or work ethics either? Do you mind telling us how old you are? Be honest.

If most Republicans have their way, you are right, there will be no SS for you or anyone else.

I am 38 I believe that I am smarter with my money than the morons running the shell game called SS period. Vote for Obama if you wish, but 4 years from now when you look and wonder what happened to this county And your llivelihood you will only have yourself to blame

by Blitzen on 17 July 2012 - 12:07

I'll vote for whomever I damn please. We could elect Justin Beber this year and in 4 years nothing much would have changed.  Stop with the fear mongering. If you are half as smart as you think you are you would know that this country will continue status quo as long as you are alive. It wiil never change  - donkeys vs elephants vs donkeys. It never ends.  SS will be here when you retire, do you really think the gov is going to stop collecting from our paychecks? It may be privatized by then, but it will be available. I'll also wager you'll take your monthly handout. Your entire life could change in the blink of an eye. The only reason threads like this even matter is to expose the lies and rhetoric spewed again ALL candidates.

Didn't answer most of my questions, did you? I'll keep it simple, do you think that every SS recipient has no work ethics or sense of pride? In other words, are people reading this thread who are collecting SS taking government handouts?

We are getting Ron Paul that GOP nomination in Tampa come hell or highwaters. The general election will be Paul vs Obama. LOL

by Blitzen on 17 July 2012 - 13:07

I wish the Paul supporters good luck. It would be even a more interesting election with all the right wing zealots not quite knowing who to support - the Muslim atheist or the old guy who wants to legalize pot. I imagine many have already compromised their ethics when they decided to support a Mormon high priest. Maybe they will write in Norquist. For sure they will need to scramble to rewrite their script if Romney doesn't prevail.

Blitzen if one is taking SS then YES they are receiving a government handout.  PERIOD. As for the system still being solvent when I reach the magical age, I do not think it will be. PERIOD.

I firmly believe that if Obama gets another term our economy will deteriorate to the point of lawlessness (just look around the world it's happening all over.....and you have not seen ANYTHING yet- more to come- watch as China begins to tank and see how much your precious government dollars will buy you).

You are entitled to vote for whomever you want; however, when things get worse for you, your friends, your family, realize that you had a choice and made it.  It's not fear mongering....it is simply the facts.

by Blitzen on 17 July 2012 - 14:07

How can SS be handout when the recipients have contributed to it their entire working life?

"I firmly believe that if Obama gets another term our economy will deteriorate to the point of lawlessness..."

And you base this on what, your extensive education in economics or business experience?

Our society will deteriorate to the point of lawlessness but it won't be because of Obama; it will be because of lawmakers from both sides of the aisle pandering to corporations and the wealthy and passing legislation that continues to aid in the concentration of wealth and power into the hands of a relative few.  The transformation of a society into an oligarchy has preceded the collapse of every civilization in the history of mankind.
