Global warming buffs.

Why is the magnetic north pole shifting?

Could this be a factor that is causing weather changes etc?

http://sincedutch.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/1112012-north-pole-shifts-towards-siberia-warmer-latitudes-have-shifted-nw/

Hmmm, is the earth's crust moving to a different position on the earth's molten core? Could this be what is causing the poles to shift? Has it happened before, thousands of years ago? Could this be causing the Worlds Oceans to warm? Is this going to be the cause of the breaking up of the west coast of America?

Maybe you should read up on Edgar Cayce, you probably won't like him since he was a very religious man, who naturally believed in God. He was clairvoyant and predicted a lot of the Earth changes that are presently taking place. Never mind the wonders he did for modern medicine.

Or are you just going to swallow the old Liberal party CO2 crap? So you can carbon tax the world to death?

And good old Edgar wasn't even schizophrenic. LOL

There are many seemingly valid arguements for and against global warming debated by people who are a lot smarter than I am. If considering it a strong possiblity is swallowing the liberal Co2 crap, then I am gulity. If paying a tax would prevent more damage to the planet, then I will gladly pay it. Right now I don't know for sure (and neither do any of you). I will err on the side of caution and will try to do my part to reduce on my own footprint rather than buy into everything said by the political party I favor and reject everything said by the political party I don't.

BTW, I don't reject opinions because they come from religious people. Frankly I don't know how to separate "religious" people from the rest of the population. Do they wear ID tags or is it one of those instinctive things one either knows or doesn't?  How do you judge who is religious or who isn't?

Didn't the earthquake in Japan cause the Earth to shift on it's axes? That would mean change in magnetic pole? I don't know, just wondering aloud. That huge quake in Cal last time did the same thing, as did the huge one in Mex a few years ago. The Earth is not static, so wear and tear so to speak is going to cause changes. But as for CO2, I prefer not to breath dirty air, that's why I prefer living in the country. When people come to the house and leave their car running, I kindly ask them to shut it off. You'd be surprised how bad those fumes smell when you don't smell it every day, and it lingers. I even taught my horses not to fart....tooo much CO2 ;-)

at one time greenland was "green" proof has been seen in the melting ice.
our earth is dynamic....it cools down, it warms up.....

why so much worry?

by SitasMom on 31 July 2012 - 16:07

the magnetic poles of the hearth have changed several times in its history

farts are methane, not co2 - lol

co2 is good stuff, it causes plants to grow and give us oxygen.....

by joanro on 31 July 2012 - 16:07

LOL, Sitasmom, you're right, been gettin too much fresh air and can't tell one gas from another anymore! LOL.

by Blitzen on 31 July 2012 - 19:07

Hog dung is the best animal source for methane. Remember Bartertown, the hogs, Aunt Entity and Master Blaster?

Too much CO2 is not good for the planet:

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the primary greenhouse gas emitted through human activities. In 2010, CO2 accounted for about 84% of all U.S. greenhouse gas emissions from human activities. Carbon dioxide is naturally present in the atmosphere as part of the Earth's carbon cycle (the natural circulation of carbon among the atmosphere, oceans, soil, plants, and animals). Human activities are altering the carbon cycle--both by adding more CO2 to the atmosphere and by influencing the ability of natural sinks, like forests, to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. While CO2 emissions come from a variety of natural sources, human-related emissions are responsible for the increase that has occurred in the atmosphere since the industrial revolution. [1]

U.S. Carbon Dioxide Emissions, By Source
Pie chart that shows emissions by use. 39 percent is electricity, 32 percent is transportation, 13 percent is industry, 10 percent is residential and commercial, and 6 percent is other (non-fossil fuel combustion).

Note: All emission estimates from the Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks: 1990-2010.

The main human activity that emits CO2 is the combustion of fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and oil) for energy and transportation, although certain industrial processes and land-use changes also emit CO2

earth heats up, some ice melts, more clouds are formed which insulates and keep earth cooler.
more co2 is available, plants grow faster (especially with the added rain) and more oxygen is produced.
our planet is very dynamic, there has been heating and cooling from prehistoric times........we have very little controll over it.

i'm more concerned with actual pollutants in the air, water and soil........ murcery, benzene, lead.........etc.

by Blitzen on 02 August 2012 - 00:08

I worked in the environmental industry for many years. Benzene, mercury, lead, asbestos, CO2 all are contaminating our environment.
