applying for SV HD and ED scoring through a recognized partner for a gsd with a recognized foreign pedigree automatically gets you a SV number. that has no bearing on the dogs eligibility for SV breeding purposes unless all aspects of the Zuchtordnung are followed, especially as it pertains to section 4.1.1.

Thank you, Susie. That is how I have understood the sv breeding rules. Very good of you to 'clear' things up.:-)

@bebo, I proposed that question to the SV for a dog with an FCPR registration, which is FCI and they said they could not issue an SV number, but would run DNA parentage testing, review submitted x-rays for HD and ED, record any existing pedigree and tie all the records together to be stored at the SV.

Momosgarage, probably if it was an issue to make lubick sv "ready", the current owners would have him cross trained. But I think he's in Canada, so sv is a non-issue.:-)

CAC´s or CACIB´s have nothing to do with SV breeding rules.
As an FCI member SV subscribed the FCI rules - that said SV can´t LOWER them but it´s our own choice to TOUGHEN them.
The breeding rules and the pedigrees are made by SV for the breed represented by SV, and that´s the way it should be done.
Take a look at your AKC pedigrees, the same "rules" for any breed (if any) - doesn´t help the breed in question ...

I thought about this problem once again - to be honest, SV pedigrees are SV pedigrees, that said, in case you want to own or breed dogs with SV pedigrees you have to stick to the German standard. We have to do so, otherwise no pedigrees. Why should the standard for SV pedigrees differ between the countries?
Ouside of Germany you are free to do whatever you want, better or worse, but as soon as you want to be part of a system (SV) you need to stick to the rules of that system.

Snusjunkie, not trying to take your thread off topic, but please PM me. Thanks.

I got the first leg of my MR I on my Dobermann Arya 184/200 yesterday.  FCI recognition of Mondio Ring Sport by the FCI is great news for the SPORT. Since GSD's are greatly out numbered by Malinois. I'm not sure why this topic is all about the effect on GSD's ?

Congrats! You are right, it´s not about the GSD, but about the sport first and foremost.
