@Dog1, thanks for that info too.  I can't defend this one, hope it doesn't become a problem and these two fully understand their responsibilities to the SV standard.

Dobermannman:

I am really happy to hear you appreciate humor. You are somewhat right, the lion's share of SV style breed events just recently took off after years of minor affect, but I believe the sky is the limit.

momosgarage:

Please understand that I am just an individual member of the GSDCA. I am not and do not want to be an officer or director of the GSDCA. Since I believe we are supposed to actually assist our clubs during their events rather than sitting at a keyboard espousing great wandering thoughts and unimportant knowledge as some might, I have agreed serve as The Chief Ring Stewart for the Show Portion of the Universal Sieger Show and yes I have been a Ring Stewart many, many times. In fact, I was the first one at a sanctioned SV show in this country.

You were right when you said some the GSDCA members who moved over from the WDA were already GSDCA members. Some were but not all were. In fact some GSDCA members still belong to the WDA. Also, quite a number of good, honest and well  intended GSD working and show people still belong to the WDA. You might be interested to know that the WDA By-Laws actually require certain officers and directors to be GSDCA members. If they were to resign their GSDCA membership(s) they could be seen as in violation of the By-Laws and technically be ineligible to hold office from the time their resignation from the GSDCA took place.

The move for the GSDCA to take back control of its working dog events and SV Style events  didn't just start last year or the year before. It has been discussed and has been in the planning and wishing stages for years. There was talk of the GSDCA taking the WDA in as a committee back in the mid-to late 90s.  Once the AKC approved the working dog sport for its member clubs, it became inevitable that the parent would claim the sport for its own.

Dog1

You are correct. Dr. Goldfarb and Helen Gleason are licensed WUSV Judges as well as being AKC German Shepherd Dog judges. Dr. Goldfarb was until he passed the age limit the only full SV judge in this country, which means he could judge in any country in the world including Germany (which he did more than once). SVF or  SV Foreign Judges can not judge in the nation of Germany, I believe there may have been a couple of exceptions to that rule over the years though.  The GSDCA also has a licensed DPO (Police Dog) Judge.

There are no licensed WUSV Working Dog Judges in this country. I expect that to change in the near future however.
