Mari,
The "hosting organization" was WELL AWARE of the offer to provide video AND livestream over a month ago..
I have received only ONE email back from them.. and it was during the meeting in Germany for WUSV.

We are nearly at the "midnight hour".. for providing service..

I have been in touch with the actual STADIUM managers about access and resources..  they have everything I need, but MUST have CONFIRMATION from "hosting organization" to proceed with my requests!

I will PM you my information, and if Dog EU or another organization has some clout, please have them contact me ASAP, as the equipment NEEDS to be shipped, or it will NOT arrive to the location on time...

I am flying to New England next Wednesday the 16th...  I cannot take the equipment with me on the airplane.. it MUST be shipped ahead of time.

I hope, for all the sakes of the people who would like this event covered for posterity, than SOMETHING can be worked out post-haste!!

It is a SHAME to have the WORLD EVENT OLYMPICS of German Shepherd dog sports held in the US of A and have NO video/pictures/coverage of it except for the shaky-blurry sideline cell-phone stuff..  (assuming THAT is even allowed..)

Sending you the info/website now, Mari..

Mari......Denwolf has contacted Mr. Yee......as well as several others in the GSDCA organization......numerous times. She received ONE return response from Mr. Yee, it was vague...told her to contact him after her returned from Germany. I myself have tried to contact Mr. Yee, and Mr. Wylie numerous times to no avail. In frustration, I contacted Mr Alloway. He is the only person who responded and he didn't know if there would be any filming at the event. We would greatly appreciate it if you could pass it on that Denwolf has run out of time to have her equipment shipped.....so if they have not already contracted with someone to film it she needs an answer ASAP. It would be a real shame if everyone thought someone else had taken care of hiring a filming company.......and no one did.Sad Smile

Thank You.

I am a premium member of the working-dog.eu site, and i asked them nearly a month ago if they were going to do the WUSV championship again on livestream this year as they did last Year. The reply was if they did they would let me know. To date they have said nothing at all but last year it was on sale a few weeks before the event. Not so this Year. They did the Obedience and the Protection; They did not do the Tracking which was dissapointing. IT is the tracking which dictates on how this event will finish. if you start off tracking and do not get a high score then you are finished in the competition simple as that so it is a very interesting phase to watch more so than Protection which we see so much off and will see so much of when the event is over. So up to now the EU site has not told us members nothing of there intentions if any. I for one will buy any video etc you take of the event and will pay the price asked. If you can arrange to get it live stream then again i will pay whatever is asked fairly so you make a profit for your efforts. I will still buy any videos from you if you do not do the live stream and someone else does. Best of luck and hope you can do something for us who cannot be at the event

Hi Steve1

I think there are "too many cooks in the kitchen" with the organization of this event..  either that, or there isn't ANY..

I am (or was) more than willing to accomodate livestream and/or video for the event, AND have a partner available to provide double coverage, but CANNOT get ANY confirmation to DO it, have ACCESS to the necessary resources, etc.

At this point, I am not holding my breath either, although I hope something can be salvaged out of this mess...

It is truly SAD in my opinion, that NO coverage appears to be offered..  either in the way of still photos, video, or anything otherwise...

Tracking is usually not something offered much..  its hard to shoot, you can't see much and don't want to disrupt the competitors, and few have ever expressed interest in having it done..

Livestream would be unlikely for tracking, because you need a high speed internet drop..  not usually available at a remote location..
Sometimes it can be arranged through a cable provider to put a temporary line in.. but THAT has to happen WEEKS in advance..

The best I could do with tracking, is shoot it, edit it later the same day, and put up a rough cut on my livestream TV station.

Again, the crux of the problem right now is ACCESS is needed to the event/stadium, and obviously, cooperation from the stadium managers, who are being hired by the EVENT COORDINATORS of the WUSV to handle such things.

I have a few more emails out to different groups.. but time is really running out..

Oh, and yes, on the backs of tickets to such venues is always written that video/audio taping is PROHIBITED.. so "showing up" un-announced is NOT the answer..   one needs cooperation and ACCESS to do this correctly.

Denwolf, I have been in contact with the GSDCA-WDA WUSV committee and they are interested in you providing livestream. Please contact Jud Kempf at j_kem@msn.com .

Thanks

Yes, I understand it could be difficult to show the Tracking which is a shame. For me a vital phase of the IPO sport and my dog has been trained to cope in every situation possible, but alas she did mess up last time but it was a rare mistake so there is never a guarantee that they will not mess up. However it would be great to see the other phases and whatever you do you can count me in as a firm customer
