cmon man it is completely not fair you are bringing religion into this conversation.  It limits my scarcastic commenting ability....(Admin, please look away from here on out.  Just look away Tongue Smile.)

Besides, you said you were off to your flock.  You postpone church to respond to me?

Why did you drop pit bulls and decide to go with German Shepherds?

Funny I thought the OP started out by saying his FATHER bred Pits 'for 21 yrs';
then it morphed into the OP doing that 'for 21 yrs'.  Not quite the same thing.

Others have already spelled out the what & the why of breeding  (either breed)
for 'the progress of the breed' rather than 'for making a quick buck'.  What does
the pastor / Cowboy still need to know ???

Dear Cowboy70! Please learn about the form of punctuation called the period! It looks like this.

Cowboy there are PLENTY of Zidane and Falco progeny at schutzhund clubs in Ga and Al. Rather than ask here, go visit some.

BlackThorh - ease off on punctuation, it really doesn't matter. He is getting his ideas across and this isn't english class.

@Hundmutter. Sorry that was a typing error! I bred them for 21 years! Sometimes with this editing if you misspell a word it will interject what they think are are trying to spell!

@Live4schutzhund! Wow we had an awesome service started at 10:45 and we're just now done!

@Blackthorn GSD! The exclamation point (!) was my way of showing my enthusiasm in my statements!

Thank you all I really didn't expect this many responses I believe I'm going to be ok!

@SitasMom! It wasn't that simple just to drop one and the other! I used my pit bulls for purposes some would not agree with! I know longer waited to go that route so when I got my first horse I got rid of the last pit bull I had and I said I would never have another dog. I said in the past that I would never own a German Shepherd but they are beautiful dogs! When I saw how these dogs work and their intelligence I was blown away! The versatility of these dogs are amazing and I have fell in love with them. I just want to do right by them and be informed and I have received some truly great information!

I am sure I could use a punctuation class or 10. LOL

"I used my pit bulls for purposes some would not agree with!"

Gee...why don't I think you mean you used them for weight-pulling or feral hog-hunting?

SMH.

Reverend Cowboy, before you breed ANY GSD litters, do us all a favor: do a daily check of how many GSDs are sitting in the Georgia animal shelters and rescues--betcha there's even several Zidane great-grandkids to be found!--and then consider how you'd feel to find a puppy from your breeding listed among that group.  Just go to the Petfinder.org website, and search for GSDs in Georgia...I would hope that the results of that search will break your heart, at least just a little.
