Would you go to a car wash to eat dinner? Would you go to a Doctor to learn how to drive? Would you go to a restaurant to wash your car? Would you go to a political site to learn dog training? Would you go to an OB/GYN to have your head examined? Duh, get a CLUE!  This is a dog forum, not a political forum.

Maggs, the political threads as well as the Molly/ Shelley threads contributed absolutely NOTHING to this site. A total waste of bandwidth. They just breed contempt.

All those type of threads do is pit one poster against another and basically destroys this place, then those people on opposite sides carry it over into other topics.

As far as the threads you listed. I didn't even read most of them, the topic line turned me off. I may have posted several times on the music thread. As far as the gay dog thread, I read RS's post that it also had been removed (along with your stupid thread) and I think I posted I was glad.

Again the POLITICAL BS only breeds hatred and contempt, apparently that's what you're all about.
That's what snaps your bean "venom queen".

DD I am now all out of Troll Food for the day!

I went to Shari's yesterday morning for breakfast......boy they serve a good breakfast.........yummy!!!. On the way home from our trip we thought, "what the heck dinner at Shari's sounds good" too.......I had an eyes on the country fried steak special during breakfast. It was soooo good!!!!

Did you know they have the best pies!!!!. Now I know what your going to say .  "RPK, there are better places to go out for dinner". But we all make choices of what we devour when hungry. I have zero regrets. After all, when It comes to what we consume, it is my business, and not yours.

Yawn..... must have coffee,

"That stuff doesn't drive off people from other countries the way the political stuff does. This place used to have a lot of interesting people from all over the world posting here, not just the same 30 Americans and Brits posting over and over, every day.

You'd have to have been around five years ago to know the difference I suppose, but this place really was an international dog board, with lots of knowledge about the breed being shared across the continents. The political stuff - and I don't care if it's from liberals or conservatives - just causes trouble and brings out the absolute worst in people."

Very good post with valid points.

My observations:  1. the political posts are anti-Obama, obviously
                                 2.  The majority of those that complain if not ALL of the those that claim political posts should not be allowed are FOR Obama.

There in lies the problem.  It is not that is it off topic so much, as that you folks in the U.S. are very political and passionate about your politics.  We, up here are not as much so.   That is why it causes such friction, and even though I find these type of posts interesting, I do agree it does incite and divide, so maybe for the sake of the board, it is best left alone.  Not even accounting for the folks across the pond and how they feel about it when their countries are mentioned.  The same with the religious type threads.  They have the same effect.

I agree 100% with your opinion....But what many here fail to realize, is that it is not only policital threads and opinions that cause friction, incite and divide. It is also what has been done to divide the GSD into different "TYPES". Such as for example, Workingline vs Showline, or Sport training vs Personal Protection training....To title vs not  to title......The bottom line is, everyone has an opinion and not everyone agrees...Its each individual's choice.   If we could just learn to agree to not agree, don't read threads that we don't like, or if we gonna read it, then don't complain about it......I believe its just a matter of control, and if we would all try to control ourselves, than there would be no need to try to control others.....We would all be in control.
I hope this make sense....

And all I wanted to do was to let the liberals on this site have a chance to take the poll and "even it up" a little.

Maybe they feel the same way about the job their president is doing, but just cannot bring themselves to admit it.

LOL

Sitasmom, I thought it was a very good post....I enjoyed the poll.....Those who opposed it should have just closed it when they saw what it was....They did not HAVE to open it nor were they FORCED into anything...Had they not want to make trouble they would have kept silent......JMO  and I am not pointing at anyone inparticular...Just making a general opinion....
