Kalibeck

by Kalibeck on 01 September 2012 - 01:09

I only have a 'flew with cat' story, but our stewardess heard poor little Heidi-cat meowing from under the seat & said, "Well if Zsa Zsa Gabor can hold her 2 little sleeve dogs during the flight, you can hold your cat, too." I took her out & held her-of course everyone had to pet her-& she purred herself to sleep on my lap until the seat belt light came back on. That was a long flight, from Hawai'i to LA, & my kitty seemed to get quite cold when she was under the seat, not sure why, as my feet were warm enough??? Anyway, that was Continental, which merged with United. And everyone on United was super nice when I flew to Portland & back.....I'm sure you'll be OK! Good for you for getting this pup! jackie harris

Thanks Jackie, I'm hoping for the "I love puppies" people to be able to bend if necessary.
Sitasmom, you gave a great list. Very helpful, thanks. You gave me an idea... I don't have baby blankets ... any more, LOL, but I have a bunch of old vinyl tablecloths with that fuzzy backing. I think I can cut them up and use them for his "play" break and just throw it away when we are done. Thumbs Up

And I kept the Sherpa for the time being, because the pet store almost matched the price I showed them on the internet...of course they said, "We don't usually do price matching....but......"  Yeah, I kow, all about "usually", but when the choice is refunding me all my money or some of my money.... it doesn't get too hard to figure out!

So, I paid a little more than needecd but, at the commerce was local. That made it better, LOL

Oh and the shipping guy, well, he just happened to find a box that fit perfectly, and didn't charge me for the packing, so I got a bit of a break there, too. Didn't mind paying the $20 plus shipping, then either. I'm  such a push over!

Waiting for the pix of him sitting in it! With fingers crossed!!

One consideration on bringing a pup home this way... Many years back I brought a pup from the midwest to Conn. In Chicago there was a 1 hour delay due to Tstorms after we boarded, but before we took off.  The AC on the plane didn't work and in short order it was hot as can be in that cabin.  I threw a polite but firm tantrum and insisted that I be allowed to take the pup back into the AC'ed terminal til the flight was actually ready to go.  Fortunately I can be fairly persuasive when I need to be.

Today is the day!  UPS tracking says it is out on delivery to you today, Steph.... can't wait to see how he fits......!!! Thinking

Windwalker, I'm hoping (and praying) whoever is doing the check-in just LOVES puppies!  Being trapped on the runway would be a problem, it's happened to me before and I hate that helpless, imprisoned feeling, besides the uncomfortableness without A/C. I'm impressed you managed to get them to let you off!

Beetree...   As I said I can be persuasive when needed... guess it's that ole "Command tone"... Once the RR had parked a train across the parking lot driveway in Brewster... I got them to move the train AND wait for me so I could park... :)  It was their fault I was late as they had substituted a bus for a train up the line, and never checked inside the station to announce that it was there... I don't loose my temper, get nasty or terribly loud... just firm... and folks tend not to argue.

Awwww. in the bottom one he is smiling :)  He approves of the bag :)

He is too cute, OMG!!... it looks like he can lie down?  ohhhhhh, I dunno............!  He's a little athlete though, isn't he!  How does one put a 22 lb dog in that? (So says the package) and he's only eleven pounds?  I think I am going to have to go to Norwalk Petco and see if they have that taller one... just in case?

Everyone else is still asleep.... so I can't wait for them to see these Beau pix now! What's not to LOVE?

Thanks Steph..... we just might need to go to plan...."B"!?!

(DH put a new name on the board: Le Savage,  pronounced, "Le Saveege", has a nice ring to it? Beware of SaVeege???)
