Don,

Is there a reason it could not bring out the best in people? Just think. if there was real reasoned sincere responses my bet is there would of been only  one political thread, ever.

Thanks for  your sincere response

"with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion" (emphasis mine)

I will diverge from my normal policy of DFTT to note that reading comprehension apparently isn't The Rat's strong suit.

Hmmmm. perhaps because those who constantly want to start and participate in OT political threads really don't know what they are talking about.  Their lack of intelligence and inaccurate posts have made Americans look stupid to the rest of the International dog world for long enough.

I would never discuss my political views on this site because it is a dog forum and not the right venue as well as most here don't know what they are talking about.

Can I interupt for a second?   Could someone tell me how long this forum has been going down hill?  Im just curious....I've been on here a little over a year, and I noticed this behavior on the first day I joined..

"How long has this forum been going down hill? "

Hard to ascertain exactly when the slide began, but I think the appearance of the poster whose moniker is synonymous with "unattractive canine" maybe marks the spot.

Since I have no idea what you are saying, that really doesn't give me an answer....But thanks for the reply....

Gee, I don't know it got worse a little over a year ago, but the unattractive canine was another really low spot.

And this post kinda encapsulates the problem.  I refer not to the observations Jim makes, but rather that in a post where he explains why he doesn't participate in the political stuff he STILL can't keep himself from calling others stupid.

Not to pick on Jim, but there's your corrosive effect in a nutshell.  There's enough room for controversy here over dog-related topics like showline v. workingline, this dog winning over that dog for World Sieger, and full series of shots for puppies v. titers etc. without getting into outside stuff that divides us.

And again, if the site owner saw the political stuff as desirable content, why does he flush it?

Nona, I'm referring to the lunatic who posts all the anti-Semitic nonsense.  That pretty much managed to clear the room of not only Jewish participants, but the German ones as well.
