LOL,

I'm sure it would cost more then it's worth :) You can always make a leg quarter run.... if you buy enough it might justify the trip LOL

Great deal... Lake Co., IL is so overpriced in EVERY way! I get my raw for free in the form of butcher shop scraps/leftovers.

That is super cheap for chicken quarters!

My husband has to bale hay for our raw- his parents pay us in beef, chicken, and eggs from their farm. Natural (ie. no drugs but don't want the hassle of organic certification) and pasture raised. :)

I do feed some ground beef (1 lb per week?) to Senta. My in-laws will convert an entire cow into ground beef so I have 50+ lbs sitting in my freezer- too much for us to eat. My in-laws said that their butcher just tosses the beef hearts/tongues/organs so we could have them for free. However, we've only got one dog and tons of meat but it's a good idea to phone a rural butcher (usually no website) if you are looking for meat sources.

Hey, Melissa.... where do you get the 40lbs for $10? This sounds awesome to me!

Elkoorr,

Schuler Meats in Thomasville :) You have to call them and order before noon and they will be there the next day after noon. They sell A LOT to
raw feeders so they also have deals on bulk ground beef, cow hearts etc... , but you have to buy volume. I believe only the backs and leg quarters
come in the smaller 40lb boxes. For 40lbs of leg quarters it's $26, which is good when there are no sales going on.

That reminds me, I need to order some more backs :)

Wal-mart and our local grocery market has leg qtrs. for 4.50 for 10lbs. (45 cents per lbs)  Donnerstorm my beagle lost weight rapidly on raw. To the point that my daughter was concerned. Never could put my finger on my. Dont know if she just burns energy or what. I had to switch her then switched both of my girls due to costs. I still feed leg quarters in the morning to by GSD.
