My first thought was that she was marking her territory. Many animals will use scat to mark boundaries. She never felt the need before. Now that she is a Mom, she's letting other neighbor hood dogs/animals know ...stay back/away.

Was she locked in a kennel while she raised the pups and pooping on cement?
I don't know about the rest of you with females, but mine is much dirtier than my past males. They'd go miles (slight exaggeration but you know what I mean) to do their business, but my female goes a couple of feet away or will even do it right in front of me while we are walking.
