I tried it and kept getting error messages. Didn't work for me.

Do you mean you can't even see it or you can't send a message?
Because when I went to send my first message on there, I hit my enter button insead of clicking on the send button on the page and I got a 404 error message. I went back and this time used the send button and it posted.

Jim,
Are you getting error messages when you try to enter the room, or when you try to submit your message?
Be sure to hit the "send" button, and not the enter key when trying to submit your message.

I got so excited when I went to the chat page with my iPad; I could actually see the conversation as it occurred. I could type in the space, but when I hit send, nothing happened. So, is it not possible to participate with iPad?

Did you hit enter on keyboard or hit send button? Your posts came through. I read them. It can be a little slow depending on many factors. Server load and the refresh rate it is set to.
Please test it and let us know what phone/s it works with and any problems you may have.

It is because chat is experimental and Oli wanted to keep it to those who read the forums. Once chat has been tested by more people and some adjustments made to it. I am sure Oli will make a button to link to chat.

Wow, Oli with all these great new features, you're certainly bringing this board into the 21st century! I know the Green Board had a chat feature a few years ago, but for whatever reason, it didn't seem there was ever much interest generated, or maybe the time I spent on it were just times when others weren't participating. In any case, good luck!
