What a neat idea!   I did not get one with my pup.  I had all I thought I needed, but what a cute thing to get.  Like a baby shower gift!  To sweet!  What kind of stuff is sent with the pup?  What is the most elaborate you have seen?  i am all intrigued by this!

I bought folders with the tabs in there to make little booklets to send home.  They get a copy of their sales contract and their puppy of course.

My booklet contains:
A 1 page brief history of the GSD
A page with photos of the dam listing titles and attributes
Copies of the dam's health certifcates (OFA)
A page with photos of the sire listing titles and attributes
Copies of the sire's health certificates(OFA)
A few pages going over housebreaking, nutrition, grooming, breeding/altering, training, and basic veterinary information

They also get:
A printed copy of the puppy's pedigree with titles listed
Microchipped
Copy of veterinary and vaccine history
Registered with AKC and UKC
A coupon for the veterinary office that I use
Pamphlets on the AKC STAR Puppy and CGC program
Pamphlet to local training club
Application for the GSDCA and GSDCA-WDA
Tennis ball and small plush toy, usually they have been playing with the same type of toy while with me

I used ProPlan large breed puppy with my last litter and was not happy with that food, so I don't know what food I will be sending with the next litter yet.

Everybody who purchased a puppy from me said that they were very impressed with their puppy kit.  I bought basic colored gift bags for 99 cents and sent all their stuff in the bag, it made a nice finishing touch.

I really like that idea about sending OFA applications, I may do that next time.

Yep, on the puppies that are microchipped, they get all the docs on that.   Same with the tats.  Vet fills out a paper and that is in their too.
For my vaccinations I will vaccinate them and pull the sticky tabs off of the viles and put them on a blank paper, write the puppies name on it and the date it was given.  With the wormer, I just make a copy of the lable and let them know I worm every 14 days.  Luckily all the hip docs are located on the German and/or Dutch paperwork so I am covered there, but I never thought to give the OFA applications which I WILL do from now on.  I do the USA and AKC and give all the docs to register the pup and I do recommend joining USA or any club that works their dogs.  My w litter I registed most of the pups in AKC and USA myself, did all the mirco and tatts preparing the puppies for Sieger.
This has been informative though, thanks for all the input and feel free to add if you think I can improve!

Thanks for all the help!

No, I think it's nice, but other than quality, I guess being tattooed is enough for me.

I assumed a quality puppy and all the necessary papers were a given....The large tub of food and collar that my breeder provided were nice little extras that I did not expect and that is what I thought the OP meant by the question...Just wanted to clarify my post .....: )

If not tattood by a breed warden, why not have the tattoo verification form filled out and signed by your vet as well. The dark pigmented/black puppies have a way of hiding the ink as they get older :) It wouldn't be too dificult if you're already going for a health certificate anyways.

I like my puppy data sheet- the first 8 weeks-

owners seem to enjoy it as well. Photos of parents and puppy are always nice too.

When I do the tattoo, I have the vet do his paperwork and that is what I include in the packet.  It saves the buyer a trip to the vet.

Doglady: GREAT SHEET!

My puppy packet includes:

AKC/UKC reg. papers
Vet. health certificate
Immunization records
Pictures of the entire litter (group pic),pictures of parents and a picture of the pup
Pedigree of dam & Sire
Frontline flea killer
Heartgard heartworm medicine
A print out of their daily routine
A bag of kibble to last a week
GSD calender if it's the beginning of the year
Have a collar and leash available, but some people like to bring their own
Dog toy,

Old issues of either, Dog Fancy, Dog World, or any other dog magazines I have floating around

And if I'm up to it, sometimes I like to name & DNA all the pups before they leave
I find that there is a number of pups not getting registered, and I like to keep track of them
I think I will make that my goal this year

Last but not least, depending on the time of year and the supply I have on hand, a jar of my famous homemade grape jelly!

One thing I've given puppy people that they really appreciated, even the working homes :-), was a DVD that contained photos and videos of the pups ancestors.   I also included some puppy photos and videos, but I think the historical data was what they appreciated the most.
