Firewall K9 breeds for superior workability and versatility that the German Shepherd was built for. Unfortunately many GSD lines today have lost their ability to perform and provide the well-rounded picture of a working dog. We are commited to providing dogs that are capable of filling the roles that their owners and handlers desire. This includes sport work, law enforcement, personal protection, therapy, and service.

There are many factors that we consider before deciding to breed one of our dogs:

Health – Temperament – Trainability – Versatility

All of the dogs at Firewall K9 are actively training and pursuing performance and working titles. The dogs must perform well in many areas of training such as tracking, obedience, and protection – as well as possess the ability to be calm and respectful members of the household. They each obtain multiple temperment certifications including the BH, GSDCA TC, and AKC CGC.

At Firewall K9 we believe in testing all of our dogs for multiple common health ailments seen in the German Shepherd Dog. Our dogs are tested, at a minimum, for hip and elbow dysplaysia, as well as degenerative myeopathy. The dogs are shown in the appropriate venues for conformation and breed survey to ensure that they are free of disqualifying physical faults.
