A fair? I'd send that one in again too. The positioning could be better, but it's not bad.  You might want to talk to someone at OFA and ask why he received that rating. I'm pretty sure they will talk to you about it.

Rose, not surprised you can't find any pedigrees without fast normals, not sure that's a bad thing.  A few years ago someone on here thought I was Blitzenstein, her competitor for puppy sales in her area. She didn't like him at all and blamed on me everything bad she thought he did  .

If Im not wrong  , the socket shows rough on one side......with a little too much space , maybe because tilted..a bit ...??

The top one is lilke Zdog described  ,,,lopsided   Id do a retake on that one for sure.....

The second xray looks fine to me,  I don't see anything wrong with either side other than one of the balls (and  the corresponding socket) looks a tad bit larger than the other, but I think that's due to the positioning. I am surprised this xray got a fair, would have thought a good as the SV thought when they assigned the a1 rating. OFA was very conservative with their fair rating I think or maybe they made a mistake.

It is a great example that clearly demonstrates that the SV and the OFA are not always on the same page and you can't make any blanket statements regarding how OFA would rate a dog as compared to how the SV would rate a dog and vice versa. Sometimes  NZ's  and fast normals will get an OFA number, sometimes they won't.

I know that these xrays of Jetta were NOT done for the purpose of OFAing   but for diagnostic purposes because the dog has been chronically sore off and on for the last few years.  So the positioning was not up to OFA standards  but that wasn't the purpose of them to begin with....  too bad that wasn't explained when they were posted!

Blitzen:   Okay above this thread is an advertisement for Worker vom Jurgenshof   if you go to his pedigree and click on back  several generations.....to V Fax vom Haus Berhart Mader  and the three behind him are all noch Zue------ and fast normal...Somehow it is hard to believe that  all these pedigrees of V dogs and KKl a life  have fair   as you say  on fast normal......there are many more fast normals before you get to Fax,   in fact ,  V Fero vom Zeuterner Himmelrich is   Fast normal      and   several of the breeders here have made the statement not to us    Fair   hips to breed.....well   what happened to all these hundreds of pedigrees Im looking at at top studs and females , that all have many fast normals up front and in the pedigrees...many Seigers ,Bsp's   ????????

Blitzen:   On the thread about proven studs in US, the name of V Wick von der Berger Hochburg,   Mike Diehl;s male,,,is proven and KK1 ,  his hip    is rated      FAST NORMAL ..

Many here have stated to all newbies and others,,,,dont breed fair hip dogs    , eliminate the possiblities.....of HD

So why are these studs being recommended...

If Fast normal is equilvilant to    Fair....for some reason  it doesnt make sense.....Where does it say that

Fast normal is  the same as Fair OFA?

Or do we just accept that the dog is  kk1 and overlook   fast normal.....or are some people on this site being just too critical...

Comments :    stay civil dont Bark unless you can HOLD
DOn, where are you   and Ulli , come forth.....

Thanks

Hello YellowRose,

sorry I didn't make it back yet. Jeck vom Noricum definitely had HD-3 Noch zugelassen hips. You might not believe what I write, but the SV-Genetics-database certainly cannot be doubted.

Talk to you later.

Jan (= John, so I'm male.)

Some important producers are mentioned on my websites, feel free to check there.

Jantie   Why do the german papers say something else   ? How do you get the truth when a german pedigree says    :"A" Zeurkannt?

Do your homework everyone says  okay   where do I look for the truth   or is HD 3 ok to breed and is kk1and dont worry about it....???

Jantie: the copy of the german pedigree I have is from Vasha v Fleischerheim;;with Hoss v Hasenborn and Mandi v Haus Hetok and then on the data base, I looked again at Jeck  and it says on there,,,,,noch Zugelassen...

If this is the same as Fair    ....then the SV would say that Fair is slightly dysplastic...?  if Jeck has HD 3 , then why is he kk1?
