Your females may not have matured by now.On the other hand just because she is a Crok granddaughter does not mean she will express Crok traits. There are 12 other dogs sharing DNA in 3 generations. And then on the other side depending on who did the helper work she could be locked in prey. Im sure there are other things as well. After you figure out these answers your solution could be a show stud, a proven social-agression producer, territorialness producer etc

powerhaus, you stated "I don't think that Crock stuff is something that should be messed around with!" and was wondering why? john

John, Please keep in mind this is only my opinion... I think that Crock stuff, esp. when Crock is close up in the pedigree, carries alot of agression. I often wonder if part of that agression is due to the dogs teatering on incorrect temperments. I have seen Russ's dog Bronko(Crock son) and he IS a handler eater! My Crock grandaughter has tons of agression and when she gets high in drive has looked at me with "hungry eyes" but has only tried to nail me when I have had to flank her to out the sleeve. She sometimes dosen't like to out! Look at the comments posted about her sire. Leo Erlenbusch! He had some agression problems also! It is my opinion that the original poster's dog just needs to be worked with a little suspicion or defense. All he needs to do is wake up the beast with in! This is a fairly young dog and probably not mature, I know my girl at the age of 2 was not mature yet! I think that the Crock stuff can quickly be ruined by breeding into dogs with extreme agression. I like the lines just the way they are and to ruin this bloodline by breeding it to crazy agression is just asking for dogs that are not stable, not to mention giving this line a bad name! The Crock lines already have good agression and I feel that they are pretty good dogs if you like a dog that is more serious in the protection work and not so sleeve happy! My dog I feel is pretty ballanced, she is social but is ready at the drop of a hat to go bite someone.

I will save you from having to go to Leo's page and look up the comments! Here is what his previous owner had to say about my girls Sire, a Crock son. And not the ONLY Crock son I have heard this about! owned this dog for two years, and to say the least he is extreme. A true alpha dog! Unbelievably hard grips and a rocket on the long bite. They don't come any harder than Leo. He had just too much aggression to be a good sport dog, but very strong and healthy. The puppies he is beginning to produce are excellent. I will go back to him with my females. I've seen and worked many german shepherds, some with extreme aggression, but I've never seen one as hard as Leo. Drive that never quit, ever. He was not any easy keeper, so I was forced to sell him. He is not a dog for everyone, but for serious dogs with serious trainers he is an excellent choice. Vickie

vickie, thank you for the info. im not here to judge anyone, just trying to gain as much information as i can. i appreciate people(like yourself) who can give an opinion with the conversation turning into a "whose right, whose wrong" conversation. john

John, Your quite welcome. I do not claim to be an expert at anything....I often dub myself as the "ignorant one!" I really like Crock and what he has produced, would hate to see that bloodline get a bad name! I am not into getting ugly on here as you will never be a mentor if you are ugly to someone! I would rather take them under my wing.....unless it is a post that just sets me off by asking questions when the answer is so common sense!! Vickie

I think this is disgusting. Anyone who wants this sort of aggression in a dog is sick. Are you aware that several small children in the UK have been killed by dogs in the past few months which is bound to cause an anti-dog backlash. There is no place for such dogs in modern society & you are doing GSD's a diservice in even comtemplating such breeding. You are no better than the sort of people who participate in dog fighting & call it a 'sport', in fact you probably enjoy that as well. Your dogs do not have the true GSD nature, no matter how you try to persuade yourselves that they do. They should be immediately elimated from any breeding programme & kept away from the public. And you should be banned from breeding (if not from keeping dogs completely)- how can you ensure 100% that none of your puppies, or the future generations produced by them will not wrongly end up in a pet home & seriously injure somebody? What you are describing is barbaric, and I fear for the future of the breed with people like you around producing the German Shepherds of the future. Are you not aware that in many countries the breed is close to being included on the dangerous breeds lists? Do we need the media & anti-dog supporters getting hold of the sort of emails in this thread? And before you think about bombarding me with insults, don't even bother, because I really couldn't give a shit about the views of people who are so pathetic that they need a big mean killer of a dog to make them feel important.

Whoaaaaaaa LILY! I think you misunderstand what is taking place here! Most of the people who responded to the original poster felt that extreme aggression was not necessary for the bloodline that original poster has. PLEASE! Go back and read AT THE LEAST my responses to this poster! We were discouraging this poster's idea of breeding his Crock granddaughter to an extremely agressive dog. I believe if you had taken the time to actually read all of the posts then you would see that many of us discouraged this breeding idea!! And as far as you saying that we all probably enjoy dog fighting, I am insulted! That is as far from the truth as can possibly be! I have been a vet. tech. for over 8 years and have seen what damage dogs can do to each other! My education would have been all in-vain if I thought dog fighting was ok! What kind of sense are you making? If you don't understand what is going on in this discussion then please ask! You could even email me privately by clicking on my user name! But NEVER AGAIN come on here and assume that we are all collectively for something like this or use profanity! It's just not lady like! And your lashing you handed out was pretty much equal to an unfair correction!!!!!!! Vickie

" I often wonder if part of that agression is due to the dogs teatering on incorrect temperments. I have seen Russ's dog Bronko(Crock son) and he IS a handler eater" SO he's nuts or he doesn't know his proper place.
