So true Vickie.
Although, I do have to say that most of our fancy mutts are spayed/neutered at least. With the one exception above!

I must confess, this is a bit creepy BUT...
I had an accident a while back with my male yellow Labrador Retriever & my female GSD black & tan,
Well to make a long story short, they were exceptional pups, great laid back temperaments, both parents
are OFA'd Good hips & elbows, both DNA'ed, the lab's eyes are cert. the pups were all solid black, cause the yellow lab
had the black gene & the black & tan GSD has the black gene.
It was all my fault for it happening, cause I brought out the GSD to see if the lab would take an interest in
her, so I could breed her to the GSD stud I picked, the lab jumped on her, no tie at all,
just POOF!!!!
Live & learn
The pups were from well bred parents, just not the same breed, I sold them from $ 250.00
up to $ 700.00, they were Shepadors!
Then, I saw a program on animal planet, how in Switzerland they intentionally breed GSD, Lab,
crosses to use as service dogs.
My pups turned out very beautiful and had excellent temperaments, also they looked like they were
100% Labrador Retrievers!
To this day I still get calls asking if I'm going to breed that combination again, Sorry, I don't think so!
They all went to loving homes, with pics of parents & siblings & the same guarantee I would if they were
purebred, one lady said her Shepador picks up the cat in it's mouth & walks around with it, it's very gentle!

mirasmom, what cute pups they were! my beloved bandit was a lab/shepherd/husky. big lab head with floppy ears, shepherd markings and lean like a shepherd, with a square lab chest. the husky was only evident in her tail, which curved over her back when she was happy. i paid $25 for her and when she died thought i should get the same exact mix. there was an ad in the paper for the exact same mix, also $25. when i called she said they were black so i didn't get one cuz i wanted one that looked like her. man that was a great mix!

I almost deleted all the pictures I had of my little Shepadors, but, looking back on them now,
we really miss all of them, I almost kept one.
The real bummer part about having such well tempered pets like them and knowing who the
mom & dad are, is that the pups were not allowed to get their Indefinate Listing Privledge (ILP) from
the AKC, cause I called & asked the AKC, and they told me cause I knew who the mom & dad were
that I could not say that maybe it was a black Labrador Retriever, BUT, if the dog came from the pound,
and looked like a lab, it could get an (ILP) #, so I gave people CGC info in their puppy packets.
Anyway, thanks for you coments, ilovemygsdnenz, it's actually a litter that I'll never forget!!!
