I certainly don't spend time on chat groups when I have a dog with prolapsed uterus or any other sort of serious health problem requiring veterinary attention - which is what it sounded like in your first post. People here, including me, like to help but with serious issues like this it's only your vet that can help you. I'm glad you have been spending time taking care of your dog with the help of your vet - good for you, and thank YOU for explaining that, belatedly.

Silbersee, I never heard of it either until it happened to me. She is due Sunday-Tuesday, we are spending day and night with her in our house. No this does not seem to bother her and she seems to be in no pain. The vet said that it does not hurt her. When she goes to potty she thinks she has poop hanging down. What the cause is I'm not real sure. The vet said just keep in clean and moist and keep her in a crate so she can not snag it on anything. She will have to be spayed after this. I have tried to find info on this but the only info I found is females that are in heat not pregnant. I do now that it is the hormone level increase that causes it to come out, but to stay out I do not know.
Eichenluft as of the attention of a vet right now there is nothing that a vet can do, he has done everything that he can do, I am with her day and night. I am a person that cares a great deal for my dogs and the vet says that it is not that serious. Have you ever seen one or dealt with one??? Do you think I would just put her in the kennel and turn the light out. We are leaving Sunday to stay in a hotel to be closer to the vet and will stay there until the pups are born.
Thanks to everyone for your concern. I'm sure when this is over I will know all about it. I will let you know about the pups. Thanks a lot Chris for your kindness that does help us at a time of need.

I am so sorry for your sweet girl. I will keep her and the puppies in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how they are doing. (And you too, I know you have to be exhausted.)

Good luck, please let us know how everything works out...sounds to me like you are an excellent caregiver to your girl, I know sometimes when things are stressful it's comforting to hear someone elses experiences, just for reassurance, and I'm sure that that is one of the purposes of this wonderful board. Know that you have everyone's support & prayers. Some of the stories you read here are awful, & seem to come frequently from irresponsibility, so I think people may rarely be quick to judge, but it is due to a passionate concern for the dogs, not with any intent to inflict bad feelings on anyone. Eichenluft is a very knowledgable contributor, & does all of us a service with her many contributions of wisdom. jo
