KKR_Gsd02 does your dog have its hips rated yet??? The pedigree has way to many (a3) for my taste. Nice looking boy hope he has good hips for your sake. Food for thought alot of people probably will not be interested in pups from this male.....something to think about if your going to breed.
Kenny,
Great head shot, he will only get better looking.Pedigree is marginal on hips but at this age you should be able to get a good idea of what HIS will be like. I might be a little concerned if you are looking at future breeding, it's always nice to start off with the best hips in pedigree you can get. Let us know how they turn out, and if you didn't know, have the X-rays sent to OFFA for pre-screen evaluation. The evaluation is a minimal charge compared to the X-rays. In the end it's often just a crap shoot to some degree. Good luck
thanks guys,
for once an optimistic outlook, although i haven't personnaly seen them yet and only have the ofa website to go off of anyway's, bill at texoma said they look " fine" he won't speculate a rating, but made a good point i doubt he would have spent the money to import him if they weren't.i will be sending them off in march when i get him/them from bill. i will let everyone know what the prelim results are. but then again i've been doing research on the matter and it's funny there's an arminius dog in his pedigree that i would have thought wouldn't have been an a3 but that's why i asked about the odd hd rating in the dogs before him? guess back then it was either hd or not. but now that they certify good , ok, and ugly, seems i have a pedigree of the ugly but good enough? oh well my whole life has been a crap shoot. now if the army will just let me do what i'm asking i think thing's will work out, if not? ahh i'll still be playing god for a few more years, and have to work harder learning to train my dogs and work them. will update you all on this when i find out tommrow if i "get what i want or they get what ???
thanks guy's,
kenny
Be safe in Iraq, first of all! and thank you for being there for all of us.
Then, your dogs' pedigree as far as hips is concerned looks just fine.
I know of Bill through a friend of mine who has sold several dogs to Bill in this past year. All from Europe. Bill is very professional and helpful.
Bill recently helped me out when I needed to re-home a 4 year old male from one of my breedings due to a family divorce. Though the dog was a bit on the older side, but due to his drives, Bill still took him on for his training program and paid for the transport to have the dog sent to him.
Myself and my buyer are very grateful to him, as the dog with such drives might have been too much for a regular home.
http://www.texomak-9.com/ is Bill's website for those of you interested.
Kenny,
Maybe Bill could send the x-rays into OFA for a prelim if you pay the cost. I don't believe it's that much, woudl cost the same if he had prelim now as if you waited and sent the same ones in later. Just an idea.
To my knowledge OFA does not give an evaluation on a dog x-rayed under the age of 24 months. They just send you a note saying that they will not evaluate it. A good vet can read the x-ray, but why bother. Just wish to remind you that on another thread I gave KKR Gsd02 advice and explained the Zuchtwert, and here I look at a disastrous pedigree of bad hips. This dog belongs into a pet home if somebody wants to take care of it. May be construct him a little wagon to move around when he gets older, or better yet feed him magic pills and then let the vet operate on his hips! Why post so many questions and then go out and buy the worst possible dog? You have shown again to Germany that America is a garbage dump of dogs, and you have jeopardized all efforts by the few reputable American breeders to achieve International recognition. Why give Americans a good dog, why not leave them stranded on this big island called the American continent? They don't know what a dog is! Very sad!
U are wrong about the Ofa I have an OFA prelimmed 1 year old male , with a OFA certification paper " Fair" and I have a prelimm from Ofa on one of Bastins sons Prelimmed Good" at 10 m0s 0ld and Im getting ready to do the webmaster that died, gsd that is 14 mos old and ofa does the prelimm on the same form except it saysPrelimm (Consultation)Report on top ......I can email u both of these for your interest if u like.....I prelim any older pup before I sell it, cause I expect the same for me , if I buy a pup less than 24mos. old.....
