I have a bitch with similar heat cycles, I always figured it was do to playing with a young male and being around anther bitch in heat. I would not let her breed tho. good luck.

A move, change in owner, hard work can affect a bitches cycle. Could make her come in early or delay a heat. It has happened to me many times of course right before a trial.

It is generally accepted that dogs should not be used for breeding before 2 years of age, however there are a multitude of things to consider before allowing 2 GSDs to mate. As suggested, please research past threads for breeding rationales. jh

My bitch was on her third heat at 18 months old. So, not that off. First three were 5 1/2 months apart, next was 5 months, and this last one was 5 1/2 months. So it can for sure vary. We'll see what the next one brings. She's already blown her coat, so should be the end of this month early next month.

sorry to change the subject, but are you a member of the new orleans sch club?....do you know if there are any clubs on the northshore?...i live in franklinton, about 30 min on the otherside of covington...i would like to find a club on this side of the lake....
